Wake up, have coffee and cheesecake (leftover from Xmas Even dinner) and watch the kids open stockings/gifts. We just hang out. MIL sometimes comes over in the early afternoon.
Show up at cjoy's house in my pjs for her delicious food and coffee.
When we were kids, we had to wait until 7am, and then had to make coffee and bring my parents coffee in bed. We could bring our stockings and would open those gifts in their bed.
Now H and I drive from his dad's to my parents the night of the 24th. Usually leave his dad's at 10pm, get to my parents' house at 1am. We all sleep in, then get up and have pancakes before we sit around and open gifts.
Santa brings a puzzle, and my mom spends the afternoon doing the puzzle. I don't love puzzles, but my sister and my H join my mom and work on it with her in the afternoon. Dad usually falls asleep on the couch. I usually read, write thank you notes, help with dinner.
Wake up, gifts with the family, leisurely breakfast. H and I usually do the cooking for the hosts (everyone hates cooking) which means we don't have to do dishes. WIN.
Then we play games, watch movies, drink. At some point we meander to the other family's place.
I look forward to when we have kids and can justify not going ANYWHERE.
