... ... ... ... ... Team Pink! Obviously would have been happy either way, but so excited to plan stuff now that we know! DH is being really cute about it.
We had our anatomy scan last week. Everything looked great and the amount of detail was incredible (well, a lot of it looked like blobs to me, but the detail that the tech could interpret was amazing).
One blip in the day...she was displaying echogenic bowel, which I now understand is usually a fluke and/or resolves itself, but can also be a soft marker for a few issues. Most notably cystic fibrosis (I am not a carrier per genetic testing) and Downs (odds were revised from 1 in 96,000 to 1 in 14,000) We totally freaked and went to the OB, got some testing, etc. Much calmer now.
Has anyone had any experience with something like this? A quick search showed one or two people in the past. We scheduled another ultrasound for the end of the month to see if it just goes away, which the doctor said is likely.
Welcome to Team Pink! I never got around to changing my ticker (I just really liked the way blue looked ) but I agree that we've had lots of additions to blue lately!
Hopefully the marker resolves itself at your next u/s, but I know it's so hard not to worry. I hope someone else can chime in with more info for you.
Can you not do an amnio to find out sooner and with certainty?
At relatively low odds of anything wrong, I'm hesitant to do an amnio. They said that the only thing they would look for with an amnio for is Downs, so we did the Harmony test last week (hadn't done previously...I'm 27). My doctor said that was more for my peace of mind than any concern he has.
