DH freaked out when A started rolling back to side at a couple days old. Thankfully he has not done a full roll yet, either back to belly or belly to back. I would get so much less sleep. We have found that swaddling is a good preventive but he's starting to hate having anything but his chest swaddled.
DD did the rolling to side at a few days old too, but that was to wiggle and free her arms and legs while im a loose blanket on an activity mat on the floor. Last night's rolling was clearly meant for flipping over.
We.don't swaddle, so as soon as she does a back to belly we'll lower the mattress a bit in her crib for.safety. We have a safety mattress so I'm not worried about suffocation. Swaddling is supposed to be a big no-no once they can roll, btw.

I don't even bother putting his arms in any more. At first we always left his hands out because he was practically born sucking on them. Now not only does he hate having his arms restricted but he's completely mastered breaking them free so I just put the SwaddleMe lower around his chest more so that his legs are covered almost like a wearable blanket. And that's only when he's alone in the cosleeper. With me I leave him in his short sleeve onesie so he doesn't overheat.
Edit: And also because he figured out how to roll to his side with his arms in the swaddle a couple days ago.

Yikes, sounds like you have a little Houdini on your hands as well. DD manages to break loose from everything too.
She sleeps under a sheet and blanket (tightly tucked in and at the foot of the bed as is recommended here) and when I tuck her in, her arms are always under the blanket. When we look at the video monitor after we leave her room, we can always tell how long it'll take until she falls asleep by how fast her arms come out. She will NOT sleep if her arms are still under the blanket, she needs to wiggle them out. I wonder if the fact that she does not like to be wrapped up tight and doesn't want her arms in anywhere (this was from day 1) has to do with the fact that my belly was humongous and she kept having lots of room to squirm and wiggle around until the moment she was born.
