30 for 30 Remix - What to do about shoes ...

Waves hi to everyone - I lurk. Today I finally jumped in the OOTD instead of just asking where folks bought stuff. Anywho, I'm Nitaw. Now that is out of the way, let me ask you this ...

I'm kicking off my July with the 30 for 30 Remix. I greatly dislike the idea of including shoes in the deal - mainly because I wear the same shoes over and over, but also because I work in an office and it goes without saying, I can't quite roll up in that piece with shorts on. So, I'd kinda like to ditch using the shoes as part of the 30. And to be honest, I don't have fancy pants shoes. I don't have animal print, red, yellow, etc shoes. I have brown, tan, black, navy, grey and because I live in Memphis, a pair of blue suede shoes.

So, is that cheating? I'm leaving my suits save a black one out for "Hey can you be at this meeting?" requests. And it's hotter than the Devil's Summer Home right now. Thoughts people?

I think shoes are supposed to be included but the only person that will know is you. It's really just a guideline for finding new and creative ways to use what you already have. So if you want to not include shoes in your 30 we won't tell on you

Well if you wear the same shoes over and over, I'm not quite sure I understand what the problem is because the spots you would have used for shoes could be used for other pieces. I don't think there's a specific formula to what all you can choose. I always thought it was just 30 pieces of your choosing for 30 days. I can't wait to see your 30 outfits.

I need to think about this some more. LOL I've got a boatload of clothes on my bed right now.

I don't think it's cheating, I agree with PPs that the point is to maximize your outfits. Since you don't have a ton of shoes anyway it sounds like you can just exclude those from the 30 and have more clothing options.

The main issue is the need to balance office attire with casual/weekend wear. Like right now - I don't have any shorts picked out. I do wear them on the weekend, but that won't work for the office. I can be business casual, but really, I have to wear clothing that would require a cardigan or blazer because I can be asked to attend a meeting with little notice. The shoes get in the way of my being able to do that.

Smo - I did think about doing that. That may just be a better idea. I laid all of those clothes out and was ummm - I have no shorts!! I really wanted to challenge myself with some of my other tops that I don't seem to wear that often.

Go ahead and add some shorts and make it 31 for 31! I've always wanted to do this, maybe I'll try it sometime soon, I'm also looking forward to your outfits!

I dont think its cheating at all. You can pick and choose how intense you want to make this the 30 for 30. No one will call you out on anything! Are you joining another group who will be doing the challenge as well?
