What to do with old stuffed animals?

We're going through Ellie's toys before Christmas and she has a TON of stuffed animals she doesn't use/want. There isn't really anywhere I can find online that wants them. I've tried to see if anyone with younger kids want some of them but they all seem to have enough of their own lol.

Do I really toss them? Obviously I've kept the ones with special meaning but there are SO many random ones.

I hide them in a box and give them to goodwill. I doubt they keep them but it makes me feel better not to toss them myself. I give them tons of other stuff at the same time, as to not be a total dick.

Most places won't take them as donations because they're hard to keep clean.

I think you might have to toss them.

Will animals play with them? I'm thinking of animals in shelters - maybe they would like to them to play/cuddle/hump?

I throw them away, but someone at my kids school did tell me that animal shelters will take them as a previous poster stated. Try there is you have one close.
