Please tell me I'm not the only one who is excited to see this back!
I love music shows where everyone is talented and the judges are supportive. I forgot it started tonight, and between The Voice and this, I'm having a happy night!
I'm watching it now for the first time. I guess it is all show choir type groups?

No. It's all a capella groups.
I LOVE this show and I'm SO glad they brought it back in its original Dec. time slot. I think it's a much better place for it than as a regular fall show. ]
I used to sing a capella and it makes me happy that the show has popularized this kind of music, and made some of the groups really popular.
I loved the first group. That Princeton group was sooooooo Princeton. They performed for my H's office party last year and H said he felt bad for them because no one was listening.

I love it for alot of reasons. One, because the groups are usually amazing. Two, because it's only two weeks long, so you don't have to deal with all the "tryout" bullshit and dragging it all out for months. And three, the judges actually know what they're talking about and say things that make sense.

Yes - I've obviously only watched it for a few minutes but it is SO obvious how it is not as staged, the comments are more authentic, they're not dumbing down their critiques to fit a larger audience. It's really neat to actually hear about the technical aspects the judges noticed.
