I so totally understand - I'm almost 14 weeks and just in the last 2 weeks have I been getting some energy back. I struggled with insomnia my first 9 weeks after BFP, so that combined with exhaustion, I almost felt like crying at work some days because I was so tired by the afternoon. I didn't do much except go to work, come home, eat dinner then go to bed around 8, even the weekends I did nothing. Just the past couple of weeks I've been feeling more energetic during the day and sleeping better at night - this weekend I even stayed up until 9:30 - it was amazing!
Hang in there, sleep and nap when you need, and hopefully you'll get some energy back soon!

What is UP with the insomnia?!?
Never in my life have I had trouble staying asleep and now (since the BFP) you're so right.. I wake up to go to the bathroom or I hear a noise and that's it. I'm tossing and turning the rest of the night.
The other thing I'm having related to sleep patterns changing is that I'm dreaming weird fricken things every night! I wake up all rattled from them and then once again I'm tossing and turning all night.
I started having more energy around 14 weeks, but now I'm starting to get uncomfortable sleeping at night, even though my belly isn't that big yet. It's hard to convert from being a stomach sleeper! It's a different kind of tired, though...like last night I was up for 1.5 hours around 2am plus a bathroom trip or two.
I also get really cranky when I'm tired. If I start to whine or act funny, we use an acronym from one of the books--HALT--are you hungry, anxious, lonely, or tired? It's helpful.
1st tri was awful for me this go around. I guess having a toddler escalated it. I did not feel human. Don't worry too much though! Second trimester awaits you
First tri was rough! I would get so tired and would just cry from fatigue. The one time I left work wasn't for the nausea (which I had plenty of) or for vomiting, but because I was so tired that i was no longer functional. My poor H got used to me going to bed right after dinner every night. But it does get better! I still tire out quickly, but the fatigue is nowhere near as bad as the first tri!
I had a yoga mat under my desk - I used to lay down there to take naps like George Costanza. Good luck - it gets better!
Did you really? That is so funny!
Thanks! Looking forward to it. Yawn!
I totally did. I had awful MS too, so it would be me, the mat, and a garbage can on the floor. I usually closed the door to my office too. Sometimes a little power nap really helped. I figured I was a much more valuable employee if I had a little time to rest, rather than trying to slog through the day like a zombie.

Well, the yoga mat isn't an option for me. Maybe I'll go to my car on my break or lunch to nap it out -I'll set an alarm.

I was in bed by 8pm my entire first tri. I kept a blanket under my desk and regularly took naps during lunch. I had no idea I could be so tired or sleep so much. My started coming back around 14 weeks. I'm still in bed early, but now I at least get to watch prime time ( and no more naps during the day).
I was the same way. Thankfully, I work for myself so I could take naps every afternoon. It really did get better around 14-15 weeks and now I feel pretty much like my normal self. When the books say 2nd trimester is great, they're totally right!
