Well Toms has received some bad press (not as well known as LLLs) about their drop trips and how it's become a trendy thing for people to do to see the poverty up close. Information has also been released saying that they do more damage than good in the towns they donate to because if damages the local economy. People don't want to buy shoes when they know they'll get them for free.
Hmmmm. I didn't like the founder of LLL, but I really don't like Toms. We'll see, I guess.
I'm exactly the same way, I will never purchase TOMS because I can't stand how they've convinced people that buying something for themselves is saving the world. Not only is it not helpful, it's actually hurting those economies like pp mentioned.
Yup. My husband always says if people want to donate money to a cause, they will, but in this case they just want shoes. Not saying LLL is wonderful, either.
