I broke my golden rule and started a new book before finishing the one I was on.
I am 75% through Clash of Kings (2nd in GoT installment) but needed a good cry book because my life sucks right now. So I am reading Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult because she never fails in delivering a tearful, incredible story.
A seriously crappy YA novel called "Torment." I'm mostly, at this point, incredulous at how bad it is. It's bad to a new level of badness. The heroine is in love with a FALLEN ANGEL, who is totes swoony, y'all. And he is trying to PROTECT her from evil demons! And he orders her around because he TOTALLY KNOWS WHAT'S GOOD FOR HER, and she's all, HAIR TOSS, NOBODY TELLS ME WHAT TO DO, and then does stupid shit, and the book is like, See? SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T LISTEN TO YOUR MAN AND YOU DISOBEY HIM?
It's awesome.
Do you have a blog? Because I'd totally read it. This is hilarious.

I'm reading A Feast for Crows...which is the 4th book of the GoT installment. I have a few other books waiting to be read on my kindle but since I have started with A Game of Thrones I haven't read anything else. I may be a tad obsessed.
I'm in the middle of "too bright to hear, too loud to see." Just finished The Girl You Left Behind, The Returned, How to be a Good Wife, and The Songs of Willow Frost.

Man, I have to stop reading these threads - my book wishlist is getting ridiculously long.
Right now I'm reading The Returned, by Jason Mott. I read it earlier this summer, but sped through it too quickly. The premise is pretty simple - what happens when people that died come back to life, not as zombies but just as they were the day they died? - but the narrative is poetic and thoughtful and pretty beautiful. I'm expecting pretty big things from Mott in the future.
