I have this issue. When I had my 20 week Ultrasound they said it was very low and close to my cervix. Not to the extent that I needed to be put on pelvic rest, but they wanted to keep an eye on it. I had another ultrasound at 30 weeks, and it had moved up some, but they are going to check again at 36 weeks to make sure it's still moving up and out of the way.
They said at this point, it's unlikely that I would end up needing a c-section because of this, but they want to continue to monitor it because it's not up high like they'd want it to be.
With my first pregnancy, I had to have two extra ultrasounds to check on my low lying placenta. It moved up no problem, and bonus, two extra ultrasounds!
placenta previa? My doc said I had this at my first tri scan, but that there's lots of time for it to move and wasn't worried. I have my next ultrasound in a week so we'll see if it's still an issue then. Good luck with yours
I had this in my first tri, but it moved up by the time I had my next scan. When I researched it then, the consensus seemed to be that it would resolve itself by late third tri in the vast majority of cases. Try not to stress about it, although I know it's hard not to. And yay for everything else looking great!
I have a marginal previa, but they didn't find mine until 29 weeks. It was anterior at my 20 wk US. Low lying is pretty common from what I understand at the 20 week, and most clear up by 28 weeks. I think only one or two in 200 are still previas by delivery.

I was put on pelvic rest around 19 weeks because of it, but had another ultrasound yesterday and it moved up quite a bit. Chances are it will probably move on it's own and not be an issue for you.

I can't speak to the low lying placenta, because I didn't have that with my first or now. But lots of ladies have talked about that.
I did want to say that with my first I went into pre-term labor, was put on drugs and bed rest to stop it and had to have a c-section after laboring for 28 hours because despite all my wonderful contractions I never dilated. So if worst case scenario is bed rest and a c-section, I just wanted you to know that it isn't the most fun option, but it isn't super horrible. The bed rest is more boring than anything you will ever do, but you know it will end. And the c-section I thought was rather easy. I didn't think recovery was hard. I am probably jinxing myself now and will have a horrible recovery from my c-section this time, but last time it wasn't bad at all.

I did. I was put on pelvic rest and modified bed rest, but that was mostly due to the combination of low lying placenta and bleeding. It moved up toward the end which is pretty common.
