I don't feel bad now either. I turned DD at like 19 months too because it was easier to keep the vent on her and I think the backwards viewing was making her dizzy too. She would scream like crazy backwards and turn pale and then puke.
Now as long as she's not overdressed we're usually good.

She's not old enough to FF right?
I would make sure she's not too hot and not overdressed. Maybe put towels around her on the seat but not behind her (if that makes sense)? Bring lots of stuff to wipe down her carseat, plastic sacks for trash and spare clothes just in case.
She's 10 months. Yeah I guess we just put towels down and hope for the best. I can't imagine trying to wipe down a screaming baby on the side of the highway in wayyyy below freeZing weather.
Can babies have Benadryl? I was debating giving her a dose to help her be drowsy ? Am I a horrible person if I do?

I'm pretty sure they can. Ask your dr. though. No. It doesn't make you a horrible person at all.
It also helps if we can plan so we leave at nap time and then she wakes up hungry so we stop.

Yeah, I can't say you're horrible either (because desperate times and all) but I'd try it before the trip to know how she'll react to it.
