Ugh, puddleofgrace, I feel you on the daycare thing. We don't really have any indoor places to take our kids so they can run around and wear themselves out. It's going to be a loong weekend again.
Doesn't the US military train in MN to mimic the weather conditions of SIBERIA?
Freaking cold. I don't know how you northerners do it. It hit 26* this morning and I'm like "WE NEED TO INSULATE THE GARAGE. I AM COLLLLLLLLD" (its below our MBR *-))
No, I'm in SE Iowa. My weather is pretty much the same as eddy's. We're not nearly as cold as MN is now, but it's just frustrating. One day last week I didn't even need a coat. Now I need to search for my long underwear.
I have been sending my husband jobs in FL I think he needs to apply, I cannot take this weather.
I just took my girls out this morning to take DD1 to school, we go via sled because we are super close and it is more work to warm up the car. It was -6 but felt like -23.

I don't know why, but that struck me as hysterical. It's just so fitting for MN living.
The question is whether I mean snowmobile or snow sled The best part is we actually live in Minneapolis, not the sticks. I do feel very Minnesooootan when I do this too
puddleofgrace this time of year sucks because the malls aren't a great outlet since they are filled with Christmas shoppers.
Since the kids are in daycare I assume you work so it is hard to get to the zoo(s) because of their short hours.
It isn't fresh air, but it is out- Science Museum has stuff for the little ones and we have been able to get enough out of the History Center too. I HATE the Children's Museum, I feel like we would get sick every time we went there.

I hereby retract my complaint from earlier this morning, regarding the single digit temperatures here in Chicago. I wore jeggings with legwarmers over them this morning, and a knit cowl over my head like a babushka. Everything was fine.
Stay tough, Minnesotans, and know that the rest of the country thinks you are brave/hearty/crazy.
I do wish we could find a good hill for sledding. There were a couple I could walk to in my neighborhood growing up and I don't know of any near us now. DH built an ice rink in the backyard. I don't mind the snow. It's the frigid temperatures that I really can't stand.
As I type this, I'm in my Ugg boots, sweater draped across my lap and an extra sweater across my shoulders. I'm a delicate flower in the cold! (wilted)
