I have it. H has it. My mom's getting it. It's not even above zero today, every time I have to walk outside I go into a coughing fit almost immediately that doesn't stop for about ten minutes. My H had a coughing fit on Sunday night while he was doing something in the kitchen. I was curled up with DD on the couch, he starts coughing, I don't hear anything for a minute, and then I hear a thump and a couple bangs. I run in there, he's laying on the ground. Sits up, and asks "What?" He passed out and didn't realize it. He came out about ten minutes later and asked me if he'd fallen because his elbows hurt. That was freaking scary. He does have asthma, so I was shoving every inhaler I could find at him. I don't get chest colds all that often, and now that I have them, I remember why they suck. My chest is killing me from all the coughing. Start taking some zinc or whatever it is out there that is supposed to fend off colds, cause this one really sucks.
*If this didn't make sense it's cause I'm so hopped up on cold meds I can barely see straight.
I just got over a chest cold that went on for 2 weeks.....like today is the first day that I haven't had any cough syrup (knock on wood). It's nasty! It started out like the flu....101 fever, aches, pains, sweats and chills and then moved into my throat and lungs.
I went to Urgent Care and was given an Rx for some codeine cough syrup and it barely worked. Apparently they gave me a month's supply and I went through it in 11 days. Oops.
My husband is one of the only well people at his work right now. In his work area he's the only one who hasn't succumbed and I'm pretty sure that's because he's so stubborn They've all posted "infected" signs on their cubical walls and his reads "SOON infected." I really hope not.
