We haven't announced this pregnancy yet, but with my first we just said something like "[DH] and I are thrilled to announce we're expecting our first child on 5/6/11!"

I think we are going to announce on Christmas. I want to do a cute Christmasy picture if I can get my husband to go along with it, but if I can't it'll probably just be something like "we are thrilled to announce that we will be having a baby in June 2014". Maybe a little more humorous than that, since people have been asking/wanting us to have kids forever now lol.
We didn't make any sort of formal announcement on the sex of the baby, but when we went public we had a photo taken of our dog, telling everyone she was going to be a "big sister." I thought it was a cute idea anyway!

We announced on our anniversary. DH put up something first and tagged me. It was the picture of DD in her big sister shirt at Disney World. He said something like "To my beautiful wife blah blah 18 months ago you gave me the most wonderful gift (meaning DD1). I can't wait to do it all over again in October. blah blah blah"
Then a couple hours later I put this up *I will probably make the picture go poof in a couple days*
I posted a picture of us outside our college football stadium, holding a baby shirt that said "My first 'our college name' T-shirt". I captioned it by saying "A new 'our Alma mater' fan is joining our family. Baby is due March 15.

I didn't announce on Facebook until I was about 22 weeks along. I knew the sex at that point, so we just did a picture of me and my husband holding blue ballons. With a generic message below about being excited to announce we are epecting a little boy January 2014.
I never announced the pregnancy on FB. I will put something up when she is born. Seems like my FB feed is 50/50 regarding those who announce the due date and post every pregnancy detail vs those who just announce the birth and then post baby pictures from there.
We have an idea, but it's not quite formulated yet. It will be something a little unique, as DH hates cheesy/"typical" things. We will wait until after the NT scan and post sometime around Christmas I think.

We posted a picture from our 12 week ultrasound and since I'm wordy, I wrote something about how excited we were to be expecting after so much heartache trying to conceive.

Once we found out the sex, I posted a picture of my cat and said she will be getting a little brother in February. People who knew already got it. Then I got a call from my dad going, 'People are going to think you're just getting another cat!' True, but those people don't matter anyway :-)
We did a cute little board with the sonogram that said ' does this mean we have to share our toys?' With our dogs next to it. A couple weeks later we nonchalantly posted a picture of a little boys outfit and put 'baby j's first outfit'
I'm not sure when we'll announce, but I love cheesy creative pictures. My H is huge into Star Trek, so we might do something like this:
Or tie in Harry Potter somehow, which is my favourite. I know a lot of people don't like the cheesy, Pinterest-y pictures, but I think they're fun.
That pic is pretty cute! Of course I am sure your DH will insist that the onesie feature a next generation starfleet logo instead of the classic trek one featured there. As you can tell I am the nerd in our house.

We posted a picture of DS wearing a big brother shirt holding a blue teddy bear. He had a big cheesy smile and we hadn't said anything about being pregnant before.
I waited to announce on FB until after our anatomy scan for both kids. With DS1 I just posed "Baby Boy Lastname will be here on or around June 2. Name to come soon. " With this baby I posted "DS1's baby brother will be here in March 2013. I am definitely outnumbered now."

Haha, I'm sure he'll have great attention to detail. That sort of thing would drive him nuts! He already has the Next Generation communicator pin for himself, so we're part of the way there already.
