He got a call from an old client about a month ago, and they met for lunch. They are basically offering him his dream job, for whenever he is ready to start. They left it that the guy would get an actual offer from HR and get back to him with numbers and details.
He FINALLY heard back last night. The guy left him a message from the airport saying he has all the info, and will be out of the country this week but will call him back next week, and that DH can reach him on his cell if he needs to.
WHY COULDN'T HE EMAIL THE OFFER AT THE SAME TIME? DH wants it, and is 99% sure it will be good, but there is the 1% chance that the offer won't be good enough for him to leave his current job ($$ wise). I want to know now!
I don't know how DH is staying calm, lol. At least his bonus at his current job is getting paid next week, so there is something nice happening in the meantime.
He DOES, ugh. He was flying overnight, so he is there now. I think he is just not in a rush. DH would be coming in to replace someone who is retiring in june, but they want him to start earlier, and they said they doN't want to lose him so they don't want to wait, but I guess they are in no rush either (DH was not looking for a job and is not actively looking to switch other than for this job at the moment). Annoying!
How exciting for the Papie family! This may be one heck of a long week for you guys, though, if you don't hear anything. I think after a couple of days I'd be using that cell number to get the details.

Good for your DH! I hope it all works out well. Perhaps your DH could send the guy an email (you said he has it out of the coutry) saying he is happy and excited, and would like more details. Maybe that would would spur the guy on to give him more info (via email back)before next week....

How exciting! Waiting is the WORST in those kinds of situations! When DH had his interview for the company he works at now, it went really well but we were on pins and needles waiting to hear. And every time I got a text or phone call I would JUMP to see if it was him with some news. Getting the position meant A LOT of big, positive changes for our life. Hang in there!!
