Our Juniors troop did an Angel Tree at the mall last Monday. All the trees were for seniors. It made me smile that we were buying blankets, lotions and clothes for seniors rather than toys for kids. There are so few "Socks for Seniors" programs compared to Toys for Tots.
I'll take a closer peek at the list after I drop the girls off at school.

Thanks for sharing. This made me tear up and made me so happy at the same time. Socks are on the way.
I used to work at a nursing home when I was in high school. We had an angel tree there and for each resident we bought for, we were given a glittery star ornament that were made by the residents. To this day they are some of my favorite ornaments on my tree.

This is such a great idea. Growing up my mom used to bring me with her to visit her patients who had moved on to long term care every Christmas. We would bring them board books and Baby dolls. I know that sounds strange but this was mostly for people with advanced dementia and that is what they liked. For many of the patients we were their only visitors. This is really so sweet.
I'm a not really on this board but all that's left is socks. I bought some for Men and women. What a wonderful idea and I am going to try and find something in my area like this too.
