I just got a call that I failed the one hour with a 141 (apparently 140 is the cut-off here). I am going in tomorrow morning for the 3-hour one. I guess I will bring some books to read.

I bet you'll be fine. I got a 168 or so on the 1 hour and passed all 4 parts of the 3 hour.
Were you fasting for the 1 hour? It seems like there's a consensus on this board that if you had anything sweet before the test it might have skewed your results.
The 3 hour is a good time to write thank you notes
It was early AM so I didn't eat beforehand. The other concern is that Dr told me my belly size is within range, but on the higher end (which I guess is an effect of GD). Guess we'll see tomorrow.
I failed the one hour by one point as well, and passed the three hour. I was not told to fast before the one hour, but I think with this pregnancy I may try to. I ate a huge bearclaw a few hours before the test, which was stupid.
It's a toss up. I've gained at the low end of normal and my belly is measuring right on track; all u/s put her exactly to date. My 1 hour was 165 (I also ate horribly that morning, but they only had me fast for an hour), and I just found out I have GD. I don't believe there's anything you can really do to "know" or "prepare" beforehand; if you have it, you have it and they'll figure it out when you take the three hour.
I do know people who had a higher one hour result than me and went on to pass with flying colors when it came to the three. I think it's sort of a toss up. That said, best of luck tomorrow! It's not fun.

With #1, I barely failed the 1 hour and passed the three hour with flying colors. My OB was convinced that my 1 hour results were due to what I had for breakfast (I was told to eat normally, but my big ole' bagel probably wasn't the best choice!).
Just found out yesterday I passed! Thanks all for the encouragement.
I'm not craving sweets so that's not a big deal. But very happy I don't have to limit pasta, bread, rice, etc. I'm vegetarian so that would have been miserable.
