Thanks all! I really wanted to try TJ Maxx (and I will hit there for after-Christmas sales to stock up next year), but I caved to convenience and spent $60 at Papyrus since that was the closest.
Let me just brag a little. I ended up getting two types of paper, both silver with lime green, red, and purple ornament print. I then got two different types of purple and lime green ribbon. These gifts are gonna look HOT! I always try for something other than just red and green. In the past I've done red black and white, and (on a dare from my late H) blue and silver. He challenged me to do "A Very Jewish Christmas" just to see if I could pull it off and thanks to some gorgeous sparkly snowmen, I did!
The Container Store, Paper Source or Papyrus for nice paper. Just avoid the glitter paper at Paper Source! I love it but it made such a mess last year.
Lurker chiming in. I bought shitty paper last year and hated it. This year I bought "heavy duty premium" paper at Target, and it's fantastic. My Target had an entire aisle of it, hundreds of choices.

I always love getting new wrapping paper every year. As much as possible, I want to use all my stocks and start getting new ones. But what does great wrapping paper usually cost? I love those thick, colorful ones with really vibrant colors but I don't know if I'm paying too much.
Cost Plus World Market has some nice designs this year.
I once went shopping in a fever-induced fog (not recommended) but one of the things I came home with was the BEST wrapping paper I've ever bought. It came from World Market.
I love the wrapping paper at TJMaxx. It's usually high quality with bright pigments and a heavyweight thickness
PS - i'm a wrapping paper fiend. I probably have enough currently to wrap all presents for the next 2 years. But each year, I find an adorable print that I MUST HAVE. (well, in addition to the Justin Beiber paper I just bought at the Dollar Tree to wrap gag gifts in )
My SIL, who is also very crafty and a wrapping paper fiend, also swears by TJ Maxx!
I always move presents I've wrapped away from those that she wrapped because she makes me feel inadequate. H and I are probably one of the few marriages in which I'm the one with the embarrassing present-wrapping skills. LOL
I really like Hallmark's paper. They usually have unusual patterns, the paper is sturdy and it has the grid on the backside for cutting straight lines.
Otherwise, Costco usually has great paper and Papyrus is great too.

The only problem with Costco paper is you've got to really like the design, because the rolls are so big you'll be using it for years! I have wrapped Santa gifts with the same paper for four years now and I still have at least half a roll left.
