I love wrapping gifts! I choose a color theme each year and buy good paper, fancy ribbon, etc. People say my gifts look professionally wrapped, and that they're so pretty they don't want to open them. I just love the thrill of handing someone a beautiful gift! (yes, this is all ego, haha)
Usually I buy at Target, but I wasn't terribly impressed this year. It was a smaller Target so maybe that was the issue? Anyway, where can I go for nice wrapping stuff? What stores carry this stuff?
I love the wrapping paper at TJMaxx. It's usually high quality with bright pigments and a heavyweight thickness
PS - i'm a wrapping paper fiend. I probably have enough currently to wrap all presents for the next 2 years. But each year, I find an adorable print that I MUST HAVE. (well, in addition to the Justin Beiber paper I just bought at the Dollar Tree to wrap gag gifts in )
Fellow gift wrap nerd checking in - my current favorite is Paper Source, but I've also been pleased with the quality and design at the Container Store, Crate and Barrel, and believe it or not, I found some great quality paper at Marshall's last year. For an individual designer, I love Snow & Graham.

I am a huge wrapping paper snob, but I am also cheap, so I find really nice wrapping paper consistently at TJ Maxx. One of the specific brands is Domain. I buy wired ribbon from BJ's.

Costco has amazing ribbon! You get tons of it (50 yards) and the quality is awesome. Sometimes I love their paper and sometimes not (this year I'm using paper I got there last year). Pier 1 usually has great paper too.
I also get into wrapping and like all my gifts to match too. I will only use wire edged ribbon so I can make nice looking bows. I have found that Michael's has the best selection of the wire edged ribbon. They have a ton of options. They have paper too. I was there yesterday and the ribbon was all 70% off and the paper was 50% off.

I got some great stuff at Marshalls after Christmas last year. Thick, quality stuff. I am also a wrapping fiend and I have enough for the next 5 Christmases.
dexteroni, I do believe you - my sister worked at a high-end stationery store in college and for awhile shortly after (Wedding invites and fancy paper goods.) I get my Snow & Graham calendar there every year. Apparently, the owner also trolls Marshalls/TJ Maxx for gift items and fancy stationary brands that she re-sells in addition to what they order new. LOL
Costco and Homegoods near me had some really nice things. I saw some at one Marshall's, but the one closest to my house had none, so I guess they are hit or miss.
We stocked up last year at Target after Christmas, I really liked the things they had last year. I agree that this year's selection there isn't all that great.
This thread makes me envious. I've always bought very cute/pretty paper, but on sale after Christmas. I built up a stash in my early 20s and haven't had to buy any in years! It's great not to be in a lurch and to save the $ now, but I'm bummed when I see really gorgeous paper and the MM head in my voice says, "Put it down. You don't need it."

Costco has great sets with rolls and bows. They also had some amazing decorative tags this year. Just beware, if you get the large single roll, it is nice quality but it will last you a long time! I think some of them are double sided.
Hallmark is nice, but I usually only but there at the post Christmas sale.
I have really been impressed by the paper I purchased at TJ Maxx and Marshalls! It is really high quality, this year I used primarily plain brown shipping paper with pretty bows and ribbon because our tree is more of a woodsy outdoors theme.

My Mom gave me her leftover Costco paper when they moved to Europe 5 years ago. It was a whole bin full of paper, omg! I allow myself to buy 1-2 new rolls every year, only if I see something I really love. But it's nice to have a huge bin all ready to go every year!

I bought some awesome paper at TJ Maxx this year. I had a huge stock pile of it and the last two years its been dwindling because I didn't want to pay for anymore. I'm going to have to go out the day after Christmas this year and stock up.
