I either have horrible pregnancy rhinitis, and/or I have a sinus infection because my sinus congestion has been horrible and getting worse. I use a neti pot and take a zyrtec most days, but it's gotten so bad that some mornings I have so much mucus drainage that I throw up. Add into it I got a headache yesterday and still have it this morning - my H thinks I probably have a sinus infection. When I blow my nose in the morning it's yellow and sometimes bloody. H wants me to call my doctor tomorrow and get an appointment to check for a sinus infection.
has anyone gotten through a sinus infection while pregnant? are there some safe meds that they can give me cause tylenol does jack shit for me these days.

I have had a few. I had pregnancy rhinitis through my entire first pregnancy, and it sucked. I don't really take anything -- just do the neti pot and use nasal spray if I need it. The bloody mucus is common in pregnancy. I have been blowing my nose for weeks now, and it's always tinged w/blood. If you feel awful, definitely check with your doctor. I'm sure there are safe meds to take; I just never have. Really, I have never found any OTC drugs to work for a sinus infection, pregnant or not. Feel better!

thanks ladies - I was being overly dramatic crying this morning, it's just hard to feel crappy and be told that nothing can really be done about it. The worst part is the headache I've had for almost 24 hours now - I'm a big baby when I have a headache and excedrin is my go to drug for headaches but of course I can't take that. i'm sure i'll make it through this, just needed a little bit of a cry this morning to let some of it out.

Big hugs that sucks. I have pregnancy rhinits too, and I found that sleeping with a humidifier has made a huge difference for me. I hope you find something that works for you

I totally feel you. I cried a few times when I had pink eye. It's a lot of misery to be pg. And sick. Hugs.
