I rent an apt in Boston and to say my windows are drafty would be the understatement of the year. This morning I was contemplating moving my bed away from the window (which would completely screw up my bedroom) so that I wouldn't freeze. Someone told me about the plastic window insulation kits that you put up and use a hairdryer to seal. Has anyone used these before? Any tips? I'm headed out in a few to pick some up and would love any advice!

I get tight but not too tight because then it will come loose at the tape. We've used it in about every apartment we have lived in. Also thermal curtains help too
Awesome ladies thank you! I went out and got a 9 pack for $25 so hopefully it helps a bit. I was going to quickly do it before I ran more errands but I guess I'll do it when I have the time to do it right.
Definitely don't do it too tight, if they are super drafty I've had them bulge inward and pop open. If its going to do that, help it along at the top so at least the draft isn't right on you.
