It definitely gets easier. I remember sobbing when BF wasn't working. My nurse tried so hard but she finally said "I can get formula and try again next time." I was a hot mess.
The others said it all. You are doing a great job. Hang in there and make the decision that feels right for you and your family. Oh, and she is stinkin' cuuuuttteee!
totally support you in your attempts to BF. Talia was so much better at it than I was and I ended up completely converted to formula at about 4 months. she is thriving so we are good. like other's said, do what is good for you and your family. I will share that I am amazed by a friend of mine in Orlando that had twins 2 months after my little girl and she is still BFing. she enjoys it and you can't beat the cost!
rest every chance you get and absorb every single minute you have with her. it all goes so fast!
Nothing can prepare you for the level of sleep deprivation. It gets easier!
Ditto!
We supplemented the first few days for jaundice/my milk had not come in. After that we were off and running with BF and its so, so much easier the longer you do it. She's 9 months now and it's so easy.
Just wanted to stop in and thank you all! We had a MUCH better night and today we are 50/50 on the boob. One side is definitely a rock star and the other blows. We are about up for the sucky side.
That is how it was for me, too. Talia was able to get a good mouth/latch on the right side, but was barely on the left and the left one got sooooooo sore for me. a friend of mine was able to help me get another month out of it before I finally gave up and started weaning us to just formula. I was thankful for the 4 months we got out of it. EBP for a while helped with the pain, too.
I've been through all this with my DD4 who had severe jaundice as a result of ABO factor. We managed to stay out the hospital but it was touchy for like a week & we had the bili lights at home. It was sooo hard. Hang in there! Let me know if you have any questions or need any support. It'll get better soon. ::hugs:::
