Wine drinkers. Do you have a decanter?

Would you recommend it?  If so, which one do you have?

I'm thinking of buying one R for his birthday (because I'm out of other ideas).  But there are so many kinds, I'm a little overwhelmed.  Budget is ~$50.

I would probably get an aerator over a decanter. We have this one:

I was considering that too, but everything that I read online indicates they're not as good.  Do you find that the aerator actually improves the flavor?

Yes I think it does! It's basically a quick decant (in my limited understanding). I use it more for cheap wine to make it taste a little better than super nice wine.
