I love that house! I'd buy it in a heartbeat! My first house was an original 1942 & I loved it. I had to remodel the kitchen but left the rest original. Loved it!

That is seriously so awesome. I wonder what color brick/stone that rounded fireplace was and why they painted it. The pink bathroom is so pristine. I am seriously contemplating pink tile in our one bathrooms remodel plan. sadly what is in there is pretty beat up.
Oh my god, look at the avocado green kitchen appliances! I love them! That kitchen is seriously so awesomely retro it looks almost cool again.
When we remodel our kitchen, I want to save our sink (and possibly the attached metal base cabinet). It's circa 1940, enameled cast iron. I've been debating if 50s-style appliances might go with it, like this:
It seems like I can only find 50s-style appliances, and then, like, late-19th-century-style appliances. Ideally I could get 30s-era appliances/reproduction, which would go with the house slightly better.
There are some features that remind me abut of my grandparents 1957-8 house, like some of the fixtures and the end shelf on the kitchen cabinets. My grandparents built their own house on 1/4 acre in a now suburban area that is pretty built out, and were the only owners. It was much more enclosed floorplan than this one, but had some wonderful details. It had peach fixtures in one bathroom, green in another, a duplicate living room with fire place and amazing built ins in the basement. Maple cabinets in the kitchen and a in-house vacuum and was super solid construction. Hadn't ever really been renovated. I was really hoping a MCM lover would find it and buy it/fix it up, but the realtor (and probably in part at my uncle's direction) didn't market it that way and it was sold to an adjacent property owner who tore it down and is expanding his assisted living facility. :-(

That house is awesome...down to the garage door with the slot windows and the near-perfect linoleum floors. I love the double, avocado, ovens in the kitchen and the upper glass cabinets.
