(This is the same banquet that hosted a wedding last year, if you remember that)
The format this year is supposed to be an "open floor" set-up. So, a lot of standing around eating and "socializing". The last two years have been more of a seated buffet-style with open seating.
So ... this means lots of standing up, right? (Man, I hate eating standing up). That said, I guess I need to find some comfortable-standing-for-three-hours heels. Anyone have any recommendations for brands?
I swear by Cole Haans, the ones with air in them (Nike has something to do with it). I always wear those when I have big work events so that my feel aren't destroyed by the end of the night.
Hahaha, I forgot that! Good luck with your standup party. I am so clumsy, I would be dropping appetizers on my shoes.
DH's team is having their work party tonight. They went to a fancy steakhouse and are out at a piano bar right now. No spouses because of rules about where the $ to pay for the party is coming from. I wanted to go to a fun party on a party bus!
If you must go with a dressy formal shoe, I find Ninas let crippling than most. Their heel placement is better for long periods of standing. ktzmoh I must try these foot petals- where would I find them sold?
I have a pair of Mootsie Tooties that I walked around Chicago all day in. Most comfortable pair of heels I own. The key is to get a pair of shoes NOW and then walk around the house in them for a while so they're broken in.

Zappos has them. They also make these sticky things that go across the back that are awesome for people like me that always get blisters on the back . I think I have bony ankles
I have no recommendations, but DH's work party was like that and my feet were killing me. If they have the same type of party next year, I will not be wearing 4" plus heels. Besides, there were so many people, (I think somewhere around 850), and it was kind of dark, so fabulous shoes were really kind of waste...no one could see them. ;p
My shoes were great for walking or even dancing, but definitely not for standing around talking or eating.

Pharmacies sell them. Usually somewhere around ace bandages and Dr. Scholl's orthotic inserts stuff. I love them as well!
