I had to break the news and tell him he has another test scheduled at the hospital on Tuesday. He cried. He also refused to let me tuck him in or read to him
What are the tests in regards to? I am not familiar with the back story.....
Is there any way that you could buy your son a special/entertaining present, and wrap it for Christmas... Then tell him he can open one present early on Tuesday, before his tests?

He's having an MRI done. He'll be sedated for it and he's pretty upset about it. We have to be there at 5:45am on Christmas Eve day, so I think I'll let him unwrap a movie the night before, and then we'll make cookies for Santa in the afternoon after the test. IDK. I don't blame him for being upset about it, but at least this should be our last test.

is it going to be at a children's hospital!? children's hospitals are hooked up for things to make it less scary. jonah did a sedated MRI when they were looking at his pituitary. it sucked and was scary, BUT we requested that they sedate him with gas before messing with any IVs, so he went in knowing that he wouldn't have go through any needle sticks. he also got to choose the scent of the gas he got. he was assigned a child life specialist (i hope you have something like that!!!) who came and played with him for over 2 hours before the procedure so that she had a firmly established relationship and she was the one who took him back when we weren't allowed to go any farther. he was extremely comfortable going with her and she stayed with him until he was asleep. i blogged about it if you're interested in seeing what our experience was like with the sedated MRI: inchingup.blogspot.com/2011/10/earlier-this-month-we-spent-day-at.html
it just occured to me that you said "another" test and that maybe i just spouted out all that stuff and maybe you've been through this before. sorry!!
It is at a children's hospital, so I think he's in good hands. We haven't been through an MRI yet, so your blog is very helpful. Thank you He's five and a half and still has moderate to severe delays across the board... speech, fine motor, and gross motor. We've been in therapy since he was a baby, but e haven't been able to pinpoint why he's having problems. He's had a bunch of labwork and an EEG done in the last few weeks. The MRI is a last ditch effort to figure out what's going on.
