That bed is awesome. DS would flip. I am going to regret the workbench we bought for Christmas that has a million little screws, bolts, etc., but he specifically asked for one.
DH wants to dig out a patch in our backyard, fill it with sand, and make it a giant construction zone. It sounds cool, until I remember that there is a feral cat problem here. No giant litter boxes for us.

I have considered that bed, but to be mm, we are keeping his nursery with converted crib until he's a little older and will need a twin bed. I really wanted to get DS a train table, even though he has tons of train sets and is getting more, and our coffee table is old and perfect train table size (and a train table would require us to get rid of the coffee table). I just want to buy him every big toy, awesome new toy and all of the classic toys I had. Our house isn't big enough for all these toys!
I want to get DS a play kitchen, a workbench, and a train table (he's 18 months). But, we have a million toys and we're planning on moving this spring, so I don't want to deal with figuring out what to do with all of that stuff when we list our house for sale. So here's hoping we've moved by his birthday so I can get him one of those things.

I walked around Target this morning for half an hour with a Lego Friends beach house set in my cart. My kids have tons of sets already, and are getting three more each for Christmas. But I still wanted them to have this particular new one! Sanity won out and I didn't buy it, but it was a close call!
OMG those beds. I want one. Including the pirate bed. Never mind that my daughter is a 2 week old preemie as of tomorrow and and sleeps in a plastic container at the hospital.
A beanock would be perfect for him. Sure, it would take up over half of his bedroom and costs a grand, but does that really matter when you have a big cushy, cuddly swing hanging from your ceiling?
I bought my older 2 electric scooters & DD3 drums for Christmas. I'm gonna regret them I'm sure. Also we are getting a full size air hockey/ping pong table for our sunroom which is a French door away from my living room. The noise is gonna drive me crazy. I did resist the giant polar bear at Costco though, so I do resist occasionally.

OMG that's actually kind of funny.
I don't know if something like this would work for you, but we have a wooden playset in our backyard. Next summer I want to dig out the gravel and dirt in its square base underneath and put in sand, then have screen-material fabric that rolls done and hooks at ground level to keep out animals, leaves, twigs, etc.

That might work. We've talked about maybe using tent stakes and a tarp to cover it, but something that rolls and hooks sounds better. I think I'm going to have to figure it out, because DH is convinced DS also needs one of these crazy things: www.hayneedle.com/product/catfrontloaderwbackhoepedaltractor.cfm
