DH told me yesterday to go splurge on something for myself as a christmas present (we usually don't exchange gifts). I have no idea what I want to get because I'm not one to spend a bunch of money on one item. Part if me wants to get someone to do a deep cleaning of our house but another part of me wants to get something fun.
He didn't say how much I could spend, just said "don't go overboard".
Is really like a pair of jeans, but thinking I should wait a few since I'm only 3 months post-partum. And I'm not much of a purse person.
Any suggestions? I really don't want to miss out in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
I like the house cleaning idea! Since you're a SAHM, that sounds like a nice little treat. Maybe u could do that and a little treat for yourself like a mani/pedi or facial?
Since your a SAHM maybe he can keep the twins and you could treat yourself to a spa day? Massage Mani pedi and facial or wrap thing? Or a fancy dress that makes you feel gorgeous and a babysitter and date night out? Or.. new shoes that are stylish but easy to wear? Or some super hot new heels?
If you want the deep cleaning for the house, then do that.
Years ago, when I/we were in massive workaholic mode, we were cleaning next to nothing. H paid for a deep clean of our house and I swear it was like walking into a whole new house. It sounds overly dramatic but it was so much better and made me feel much more relaxed.
It also gave me the energy to start organizing and purging things.
I LOVE getting the house cleaned. I SAHM and it is so nice to have that extra bump in cleanliness. I can can vacuum and wipe counters all day long but having someone mop, clean my oven and bathroom is amazing. I would do that and get a mani/pedi while they're cleaning your house! Or a facial. I can't believe how much better my skin is after a facial. Pregnancy does a number in you all over!
Wait to buy the jeans!! Both of my kids, around 9 months I started feeling skinny again, but want back into my pre-preg jeans with DD1 until she turned 2. And I'm still not after having DD2, she's 15 months old
Anyway I'd get a housekeeper while you are out having a massage or spa day. Enjoy!!
I say go for the house cleaner. I'm 5 months pp and I don't think I'm ready to buy jeans yet. I had a house cleaner come last month and it was great. They did the blinds, baseboards, all 4 bathrooms, the kitchen and cleaned the fridge. It was a nice treat and since then it's been easy to keep up on. Oh and a bonus was that my husband loved it and suggested we have them come back every few months.
I think I'm going to go with the house cleaning. I really want a pair if really nice leather boots, but in think the house cleaning will be better right now even if I only get to enjoy it for 5 seconds before DD destroys.
