Ours is making a terrible noise and we're not sure how long it's going to last (the sticker on the inside of the door says 1979 so it's getting up there in age). We hope it makes it to June, but I'd like to be prepared if it quits before then.
Does anyone have any recs on top freezer refrigerators? The H wants an ice maker. That's my only requirement. We can't do french door style due to size restrictions (and price, I'm thinking $1200 or less). It would take a lot of convincing to get me to buy a bottom freezer fridge, but if you've got an awesome one that's 32" or less wide, I'll listen.

I don't know about top-freezer styles, but we've been really happy with our Amana (I think they're made by Whirlpool these days). It's a very consistent cold throughout - no weird spots where stuff freezes in the fridge - and the organization features are nice.

DH will be happy to hear that. He's a huge Amana fan (not sure why). Thanks!
It's 33" rather than 32", and we paid just under $1k for it. I don't know why it's listed over $1400. Anyway, I love it. The fridge door holds all our condiments (we have 2 million bottles of condiments) and multiple giant gallon bottles and lots of alcohol. That leaves plenty of room for real food in the rest of the fridge.
