The question in the ABCs thread about excellent views made me think that it would be fun to have a Travel thread where we share some cool photos of beautiful and/or unique vistas we've seen while traveling.
Basically, it's a chance to literally show off some of the coolest views you've seen. I, myself, will probably take mine down after a little while. But yeah, it might be fun for us to all share photos of views that blew our minds or that we really like. Interpret that however you want.
PS: I'd love to see all of the continents represented in this.

Just to get it started, here are a couple of my favorites.
The first is from a trek I did into the Sahara. We hiked mountains of sand and got this amazing view. It was well over 100 F, and the water was running low but yeah - incredible view. It really made me feel a sense of timelessness about the planet.
And for a beautiful winter image, this was the view of the cafe in a gorgeous art museum in Vienna near Christmas time. I thought I was going to pass out from all of the beauty.
We did a helicopter tour while in the Whitsunday Islands in Australia because I wanted to see Whitehaven Beach and its swirling inlet from above
Here's a shot from on the ground:
And here's a picture so picturesque I can't believe we saw such a scene, much less captured a picture of it. It's at the Key Summit on the Roteburn Track on the south island of New Zealand:
