Someone is hammering something next door on my day to sleep in. At first I was annoyed then I thought, "Maybe they're putting together a play kitchen." LOL
I'm so annoyed with my coworkers right now. I put in a ton of extra effort and did stuff on both of the last weekends without so much as a thank you. But when they need something and I don't have it within two minutes they are bothered. Bite me.
Also, I'm going to be that person who is at both Target and the grocery store with a baby today. I hadn't put any thought into Christmas breakfast until last night, and now I want to try to make monkey bread but don't own a bundt pan (hence the Target trip).
DD2 woke up crying an hour ago. I went in her room and she was laying in her crib crying. She didn't get up when she saw me so I rubbed her back and then left her room. That was over an hour ago and she is still asleep. She has never slept this late and DD1 is still asleep too. I got to enjoy my toaster strudel in peace.
I have to work today from 8-10 so DH is home with DS. DS was so confused that I was going to work and that DH was staying home (DH hasn't had a day off in the past month) and he was worried DH wouldn't know how to make his breakfast. It was really cute

DD was up at 5:20. I'm on vacation but damn if this girl won't let me sleep in. She is sick and this is still sttn so I really shouldn't complain. She is back down for a nap.
We have no family plans tonight yay. We are going to order Chinese and watch movies .
I'm at work until 10. Then I have to stop by the grocery store on the way home. Then I have to get a ton of stuff done for tomorrow's brunch plus make dinner for tonight.
I'm afraid we won't have enough food for tomorrow either now that the guest list seems to have doubled.

My husband has the day off, which is great. I made us all a pancake breakfast from scratch. I have tons of present wrapping, which I enjoy, then we have church this afternoon. Its going to be a pretty relaxing day overall.
AJ slept from 6:45 last night until I woke him up at 8:15 today...methinks he was catching up on sleep still from Saturday, but I am not complaining. Now he's at the sitter's for a bit and I'm going on a run before I start doing last minute gift shopping.
Or maybe I'll do the errands and THEN go run. Decisions, decisions.
I'm really hoping my SS got her gift by now-I sent it last Monday, but I've heard USPS has been dropping the ball lately. And of course I didn't opt for tracking, damnit.
My BFF from college and his wife are expecting their first kid in late June! I will need help for a present for City kids from 212Jalapeñomel and others.
Except for a couple of hours of wailing midday, VCB's reaction to 4 month shots has mostly been to sleep through it.
I'm jealous of people who don't have Christmas Eve plans. I would LOVE to be able to take DD to Christmas Eve candlelight service, order take-out, watch a Christmas movie together, and go look at Christmas lights when she gets older but DH's family has ALWAYS done their Christmas celebration on Christmas Eve evening. I'm hoping that we can eventually get them to agree to doing it during the daytime but I'm not holding my breath. Christmas Eve candlelight service is my absolute favorite and I'm sad DD won't have those memories
On the upside, I am grateful that our families plans don't conflict. That does make things less stressful.

I have a stomach bug and have been puking since 2am. Ds may have it too because he's been acting very off today, just laying on the couch with me. Dh had it Saturday and it lasted less than 24hrs so that gives me hope.
DH has been promising me for days that he'll take DS into town to run errands so I can wrap gifts. Finally he decides to do it today, but he won't stop whining about how crowded everything is going to be. Well dude, you could have done it anytime in the last week but YOU CHOSE Christmas Eve. Not my problem.
We made it! Our normally 8-9 hour drive yesterday took 10 hours. Audrey handled it pretty well too (I rode in back with her mostly and was able to keep her from crying too much). Not too bad. She also only had one wake up last night, at 5:30 am!
Maybe next year H and I will have the balls to change the Christmas status quo. We got in an argument last night because of all the places we have to go (two tonight, two tomorrow), because of course everyone wants to see the baby and SS (who we only have one of the days).
H asked if his mom, stepdad and sister could come over Christmas morning to open gifts with SS since he won't be at the great-grandparents tonight. I flipped out because Christmas morning is the only few hours we have with just the four of us to relax. Apparently he didn't mean right at 9am when SS gets dropped off, but he didn't explain himself very well. Needless to say, my in-laws will be stopping over before we leave to go to his family celebration at noon, because they don't want to exhange gifts with us while we're with the extended fam.
After waking up at 5 all week, DD slept in until 8, which is her normal wake up time. But instead of being happy and well rested, she has been a clingy beast all morning.
She just laid down, farted and gave me the biggest smile. So maybe it's just gas making her cranky?

We have the bug too I went to get DD from her room this morning and she was covered in puke. Not sure when it happened, but clearly sometime overnight. She's puked twice since too. I feel shitty and so does H and we have tons of stuff to do.
In related news, my sis and her h had it Sunday. My mom took my nephew. We met them out on Sunday night and my mom happened to mention that nephew had puked that morning. We should have turned around and left then but we stayed and now look When I talked to her this morning she said "you were probably already exposed to it anyways". WTF.

I'm sitting here watching The Year Without a Sant Claus (my favorite one of all) with DS when I should be making the two batches of Oreo balls I'm bringing today.
Holy cow. H just called from work to tell me he loved me, which is super random and not entirely like him (unless he's drinking...). But apparently someone just had a heart attack and dropped dead in his store. I can't even imagine what that family will be dealing with today.
I have a lot to make for our appetizer dinner tonight. So far all I have made is the dip and it doesn't taste quite right to me. Oh well. I can't wait for J to open presents tomorrow!

This is what happened to us. MIL brought our nephew to our house last weekend. She's still trying to hold on to his sickness (that she failed to mention, WTF) was from food poisoning from chicken nuggets. Right. Except my DS1 had the pukes two days later, then my DD and 3 month old baby had it (heartbreaking). I had it Saturday.
No one had thrown up for over 30 hours when we drove to my in-laws yesterday, but of course, DD threw up last night. And really, I don't even feel bad about exposing them. It's a perfect full circle. MIL isn't feeling great today but is insisting it's vertigo and not the stomach flu. Why can't it ever be just the stomach flu, woman?
Thankfully DD woke up feeling normal but DH and I didn't sleep because we were jumping out of bed every time she even rolled over in the other room. Gah. Four days of puking kids is far too much.
Our sump pump went out last night and our basement has water. Silver lining to living in a wet area - DH bought and installed a new one and it's not even 10 am. My hero.
DD is 6 months old today! I can't believe how quickly the past half year has flown by - where did my tiny newborn go? I'm also thrilled to report that I'm still exclusively BFing (6 months was an initial goal of mine that seemed impossible from the beginning).
