It's hot here in Chicago, but I know it's going to be HOTT there. I've been digging my maxi skirts; but I wonder if having on a long dark skirt and tank will still be too hot/uncomfortable?
Is anyone from the Woodlands area north of Houston? Debating if I'll stick out like a sore thumb if I bring my fedora.
PS- I'm going for an outdoor, backyard, lowkey wedding of a friend. I'm in the wedding. We're wearing sundresses and the wedding is at 8pm, but I still think I may sweat to death.
The long skirt would probably be too much but the fedora is okay. You won't be wearing the fedora to the wedding, right? I would only bring sandals also.
I used to live in Houston, and I was actually just there last week for a Coldplay concert. It is HOT. You can wear a long skirt but just be prepared. Honestly, it's going to be hot in a short skirt haha so wear what you want! You might want to go with lighter weight fabrics but I don't think what you're wearing will make that much of a difference. You won't be the only one sweating
Also, you won't stick out in a fedora. Make sure to have some type of hair products to combat the humidity. Have fun!
Thanks! I'll stick with shorter skirts/dresses then. and yes, I think I'm leaving my Chi at home and just wearing my hair wavy for the week, or up!
Amy- We're going out to Market Street on Thursday night for Bachelorette. Are flat sandals okay in that area? (I'm trying to packing everythign in my carryon and wedges/heels like I'd wear for bparty in Chicago would take up a lot of space. Trying minimize the amount of shoes I bring). TIA

Yes, you'll fit right in wearing a cute dress and flat sandals. Market Street is the outdoor shopping district with little boutiques and some of the nicer restaurants. It's kind of a "see and be seen" area - my girlfriends and I like to park at the outdoor bar at Jasper's and people watch.
