M has eczema. It's pretty bad on her back right now. Last winter we had to use steroid cream (she was 6 or 8 weeks old). It hasn't gotten that bad this year yet. Wondering if anyone has a suggestion for creams or bath washes.
It gets worse with eucerin and aveeno eczema cream. I've been using aquaphor and it doesn't seem to be getting any better, perhaps even a little worse. I saw babyganics eczema cream in the store, but was hesitant to try it (it was $9). Has anyone used it?
she already sleeps in cotton only and we bath her every other day because of it.
You can try putting Robathol oil in the bath and then slathering in Vanicream when she gets out..... Unfortunately for us, DD only responds to steroids and after 3 weeks we can't get her face back under control without them, so I think we're headed for an Elidel prescription.....
Aquaphor and Aveeno are not good for moderate to severe eczema.
Frequent, soaking baths in lukewarm water to get moisture to the skin. Then pat dry and immediately slather in Vanicream. If the flare doesn't settle down, you may need a steroid. But try the vanicream first. It's the only cream I can use on my son's eczema. It's pricey, but nothing else works as well,

We switched from CA baby to Lush Honey I washed the kids with DS and while it isn't gone, it is noticeably better. He only gets soaped twice a week. We also use Eucirin after soaping during winter.
I thought DS had eczema this week (he's had flare ups before) and it ended up being pityriasis rosea. His back and stomach look horrible and it will last weeks. Nothing really helps it go away.
