Can I sow lettuce/spinach all summer?

Can I fill in areas of my garden with new lettuce/spinach seeds all summer long in order to get more greens or is it too hot at some point?

Note, I live in MT.

I've done it, but in an area that gets partial shade, and it gets hot in CO. I have had to watch it more closely, both for water and because it tries to bolt quickly.

Some temps turn lettuce bitter. Mine was grew nicely but tasted awful as early as May and it was in the 80's.

yes I think you can. You have to harvest the grown lettuce and start new ones on a continual basis, but as long as the varieties are right for your time of year then it technically can be done.
