DS likes to be held all.the.time. However, whenever I try to wear him he screams. DH used to west him in the early days with no issue. I have an Ergo, Moby and a ring sling. The Ergo is the only one I feel comfortable with but I'm willing to try the others if it means I could wear him. He's 14# and my as are tired!
One problem I had in the early days was that I'd wait until DS was super fussy before thikning, "Oh, yeah, I'll try to wear him!" It worked better if I popped him in the ergo at the first hint of fussiness. Tbh, I had a moby and hated the frustration; the ergo is also the only one I felt comfortable with.
wrap the moby tighter than you think you should-DS liked the tightness. but-your DS doesn't like to be swaddled, does he? or am i confusing him with another colicky infant?

I have a Moby and am struggling with this. So far, I have only had the nerve to try it when DH is around and can keep her calm while I suit up. When I did try it on my own, she wanted to nurse immediately after I put the thing on, and I had to unwrap, etc. I'm thinking about trying an Ergo, which seems easier to handle.

Yep - doesn't like to be swaddled either. He just doesn't want to make anything easy.
Also worth noting - when I carry him around I have my hand under his butt and he likes to turn his head and look around. So simply facing me is probably not an option.
There are some great You tube videos on how to wrap a moby and put your baby in it. If you haven't seen them already. They really helped me wrap it up properly and get DS/DD in with less manhandling. It can take some practice.

I suspect one reason DS doesn't like being worn is he can smell my milk. Sometimes I've been able to wear him for a few minutes if he's not hungry.
The Moby (Bob's version, nearly identical) never worked well for me. But we love the K'tan, and also Mei Tei's.
The K'tan is similar to a Moby in the way that it holds the baby, but it's basically pre-wrapped, and you just loop it around you. I got a better fit because you buy them sized.
Infantino actually makes a great Mei Tei. It's nearly identical to my Baby Hawk which was 4x the price. DS has always been happy in the Mei Tei. It's really easy to tie. I would suggest picking one up at your local Walmart/TRU/Target and returning if after a few tries it doesn't seem comfortable on you.
The only place I've seen the K'tan in-person is Buy Buy Baby.
DS is teething right now, and is soooo sad and cranky when a tooth is cutting. His mouth is super swollen right now. I find myself wearing him around the house every other day or so right now while I'm prepping dinner, vacuuming, doing laundry, etc. Sometimes he just wants to be up against me. I've started to back carry in the Mei Tei because he's more mobile and starting to grab at things when I'm working around the house. I love how versatile the Mei Tei's are.

How's his head control? I'd try wearing him in a hip carry in the RS given this info.

Pretty good. I'll check out some YouTube videos and try a hip carry. The RS requires a lot of coordination that I don't have, lol

I like the ring sling, but I didn't get it until she was just at 2.5 months. There are a couple different ways to place them. You tube videos are good for how to do it. I felt more confident in the ring sling than a wrap.

Thanks I'll try this!
I'll second the infantino Mei Tei. DS loves it. I do need to make sure I have a higher cut shirt on when I wear him. If he's right on nearly exposed boobs, he thinks it's food time. He'll sleep there or just contently look around. It's great having two hands again!
I loved the ring sling when he was still in that newborn, frog-leg stage. It was easy to pop on by myself and toss him in. It's still ok for just a little extra support when I'm holding him, but I've never felt comfortable going truly hands free with that one.
The Moby is where it's at for me now, I had a little trouble with it when he was still all curled up (I was always afraid I was squishing his legs). Now that he likes to have his legs stretched out and with the hug hold - like this:

If he has good head control you could try the kangaroo carry. Cross his legs and let him face out in the ring sling. The maya wrap website should have instructions and pictures.

I'll third the infantino mei tei. DD has been pretty fussy and clingy lately so I'm back to wearing her for some of her naps. I never had much luck with the moby and by the time I go her wrapped in, she was a crying hot mess. I can easily and quickly pop her in the ergo or mei tei before meltdown and arching back ensues.

Ds hated the wrap if his legs were confined. I had do wrap him in a modified upright position with legs out. Even so he only tolerated it for 30mins tops. He's just not a fan of being worn (but always had to be held until he got independently mobile)

Interesting - I wonder if DS would tolerate that? He also strongly prefers being upright, always wants to be held standing.

You can put him tummy to tummy with his legs out in the ring sling. Just make sure the fabric goes knee to knee and you have a good seat. If you move it slightly to the side he should be able to look out.
