Whenever someone asks me how far along I am I always say weeks instead of months. I know I change weeks on thursdays and I'm usually pretty aware of exactly where I am - if I had to break it down in months I might be able to estimate it quickly, but I find weeks much easier. Also seeing my ticker on here is always reminding me of how many weeks I am.
I subtract how many months until my due date from 9 months. The weeks pregnant don't make sense to me when some of them start calculating the two weeks before conception as two weeks into the pregnancy. Also, people seem to understand months better than weeks. Even women who have had kids before, if it has been years, they don't really remember very well the weeks system.

My husband keeps telling people I'm 7 months but I think I'm 8 months (or in my 8th month). I have been going by 4 weeks = 1 month and he has been going by calendar months (my due date is 24 Feb so I'm 2 months away from it).
I also find that no one gets the week thing unless they were recently pregnant.
I tell people I'm 8 months now, since I'm less than a month from my EDD.
This is what I've started doing. People don't need to know exactly, and they probably don't care :-) Due Feb 25, so on Christmas I just said I have 2 months left (even though it's really 9 weeks).

Earlier in my pregnancy, my standard response was, "I'm X weeks pregnant, so I guess that means.... (Try do some quick calculations in my head)... X/4 months."
Now I subtract months from my due date, with the due date being 9 months.
I like the first one you posted b/c technically you are pregnant for 10 months b/c you have to finish out the nine months. But pregnancy math is very confusing my mom still doesn't get it.
It's so confusing. I just tell them how many weeks I have left now. A lot of people I deal with are older and they give me the 'in my day we did months, not week'
To someone familiar with pregnancy, I answer in weeks. To someone not familiar, I answering months (divide weeks by four, then round up or down). Usually people just want to know when I'm due, so if I get a blank stare (or they look like they're trying to do math) after I tell them how far along I am, I just quickly add that I'm due at the end of March.
A lot of people (including those who HAVE kids) still don't get that pregnancy is 40 weeks, not 9 months....so they get confused if I tell them 7 months (27 weeks/4 then rounded up) but am not due for another 3 months. Oh well. Telling them my due date seems to fix most confusion.
I usually did some sort of multi-line explanation. So like when I was 24 weeks, I would say "I'm 24 weeks - so like 5ish months ... I'll be in the 3rd trimester in 2 weeks. I'm due early XX" And then they go "oh ok!" and walk away.

I will add that I sometimes say I'm full term in 1 week since people don't necessarily go 40 weeks. Of course, I also say this bc I'm getting pretty big.

I say weeks especially for women and months if it's a man. It still confuses my H and he is always saying stop using weeks cause he gets confused even though he understands the why it's better than months.
I go by a chart similar to the wiki one and also one on my OB's website which is similar but slightly different. Right now I'm at 19+5 and I say 5 months.

I find its usually easier to just say my due date to people who ask. Most people dont really care for a spacific weeks of pregnacy, they just want the general idea of how far along. Now that I am 37 weeks, I just tell people I am 9 months, and due in a couple weeks.
I always use weeks but that means nothing to some people so when pressed I count backwards from my due date. So on jan 14 I'll be 8 mos. On dec. 14 I was 7 mos. Etc.
