What stores do you plan or have you registered at? Anyone registering at more than one store?
I am registered at BuyBuyBaby and hope people know they can use Bed Bath and Beyond current coupons. I hate how BuyBuyBaby is overpriced compared to places like Target but Target's stuff is often out of stock and not as much selection.
Also I registered at kohls.com for the bedding items I want since they have all the options there and I thought my family would have good coupons for kohls but everything is so much cheaper at amazon.com, I just don't know if my older family members shop from amazon.com like they would kohls.com?
Do you have expensive items on your registry that you don't expect people will get you? Especially if you aren't having a big shower or people that don't expect to spend a ton on a gift. Obviously people can go in on things together but I only think 1 or 2 items would be purchased that way. Is it nice to have those items on the registry anyway so you can get a discount on purchasing it later?
For example: I am reading how good the brestfriend pillow is compared to the boppy pillow but the brestfriend is at a higher price point; I feel like for sure no one would buy it compared to a boppy. Also baby carriers are so expensive I don't imagine anyone purchasing that for me. (Ergo).
I will likely not register this time, but with my first child I registered at BRU, Target, and PBK. The BRU in our city is kinda far away so it gave people choices.
ETA: I did put expensive stuff on there. One, I could get them with the completion coupon, and two, people could get them as a group gift if they wanted.

I registered online at BRU and Amazon. Just about everyone bought from BRU, in person. Go ahead and put a bunch of stuff on there, you never know you might get it. Don't register too eary though b/c some of their stock changes with the season (even non-seasonal items). We got just about everything - even the pricey swing. Our folks bought some of the big ticket items like strollers and car seats. I also put a few universal registry items on my Amazon registry (e.g., PBK towels & Overstock items & Gap clothes). I price compared between BRU and Amazon too -- some things are cheaper at one over the other. I found both places had so-so completion discounts. A lot of things are excluded from Amazon's discount (e.g., books). I went to BRU yesterday to return and close out my registry. The store people were absolutely clueless and unhelpful. The clerk didn't think I should be able to use my 10% completion discount until after the baby arrived (WTF? - cause I'll be out and about shopping right after labor)
I wish I could have done Buy Buy Baby but there wasn't one near my NJ friends/family.
Good luck! If you haven't already, check out Lucie's List for recommendations.
We registered at BuyBuyBaby and Amazon, but mostly so we can remember which products we liked and picked out and maybe to get some kind of completion discount. I don't think we are likely to get any of the big items as gifts -- we had a surprise shower before the registries went live, so got mostly clothes/blankets/towels/books, and I don't expect anyone else to give us gifts.

BRU and Amazon. I did register for car seat, stroller and an expensive diaper bag. I figure it's a good way to keep track of the type I want even if no one buys it for us!
We definitely have big stuff on our registry. Not sure if anyone will buy us that stuff, but I'm also using my registries as my list of stuff that I want to buy so it makes sense. I'll know what I picked out ahead of time if after the showers there is still something on the list.
This. I am using my registry as a "to buy/get" list to gather my thoughts and decisions. I am registered at BRUS. I highly doubt anyone will buy us the big items.

We did Buy Buy Baby and Amazon. We're not having a shower, so the registry is more for us than anyone else. We use it to keep track of what we want to get, and for the completion discount. We did put big items on there, some of which were purchased as Christmas gifts by the grandparents.

I registered at BRU and Target. We ended up getting most of the stuff off our registry, and only needed to buy a few things with our completion coupons.
I found most family shopped in the store, and more of my friends ordered online.

BRU and amazon. I prefer amazon but knew some people would want an actual store option. We don't have a BBB around here, otherwise I would have loved them over BRU I think. Oh & after my shower I plan on starting a target registry- I got a coupon for a $20 gc if I start one & figure I can add stuff from the other registries that we didn't get.
My shower is in 3(?) weeks and the only stuff purchased has been from amazon...
We did register for the big things as a way to keep track for ourselves and then if someone wanted to do a group gift there is that option also.
We registered at BBB and BRU. I wanted to do Amazon but didn't want to deal with shipping, returns, and people that bought from 3rd party vendors. We added everything we need, including the big stuff except for furniture and décor, and plan to get everything ourselves that isn't bought later anyways.
I registered at BRU, Target and Amazon. Maybe it's just my family, but we got hardly anything off of our registries. People just bought what they wanted.
BRU and Amazon here too. We didn't get a ton of stuff from either of our registries, but what we did get was pretty evenly split with the younger folks buying from Amazon and older people from BRU.
We registered at target,BBB, and amazon. I would have liked to just do BBB and amazon but my family only had a target nearby and its older people so online ordering wasn't their choice. We hardly got anything from our registry. My friends are having a small shower for me in Jan so hopefully they use the registry but I'm not counting on it. I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time returning.
We did Target and BRU and definitely put higher priced items, like a swing, Ergo, and car seat/stroller combo, on there. For our wedding, my aunts and uncles went together and bought one of our highest priced items, so you never know. Also, as PPs have mentioned, I'm using it as a guide for myself. I am expecting to get lots of outfits as that's what I bought people, but will appreciate whatever.
