So some stupid nurse decides not to get the flu shot that is a requirement of her employer annnddd she gets fired. She complains to the newspaper but she has prayed about it and god will provide.
Basically she doesn't want to get the flu shot because she doesn't want to miscarry. At the end she claims she's looking for work but it is hard because of her pregnancy, how about it is hard because basically all healthcare providers require the flu vaccine.
I feel for her miscarriages too. My employer also has mandatory flu shots and we have known for well over a year that it was mandatory.
ETA: I would love to know who she spoke with to get in her head that flu shots cause miscarriages. I had 3 flu shots, two with Kalvin and one with Katelyn. Oh good hell, I was waiting in line to get the H1N1 in 2009 because I didn't want to have that while pregnant.
I have never gotten a flu shot because I had seizures from any shot I received as a child and they aren't sure what I am allergic to. So they told my mom to not give me any more vaccines, because each time (even when I got a different shot) I was hospitalized and seizured for days. But, I was way scared of getting the flu each tine I was pregnant! I wanted to get the shot but was too scared and my ob said to not risk it. I wonder what would happen to me in my case, if I worked for an employer that required it? Luckily, I stay at home. Lol

An allergy is a medical reason. Exemptions are made for religious and medical reasons.
jnoellee they probably recognize medical exemptions.
They do.
I know that LGH, the parent company that she was employed by, had announced well before a year maybe even two, because most other health care providers in the county took their cues from them. The reason she said she won't sue is because she knows she would not win, hence she took it to the court of public opinion.
Why wouldn't they let her wear a mask? I read their reasons but I think they should have allowed a mask.
Its a mandatory flu shot unless she met the religious or medical exemption. Her doctor didn't sign off on medical exemption because he feels it is better to have the shot while pregnant vs. not. If she met the exemptions, she would have to wear the mask.
