I'm running out if steam on my powder room. H has wanted nothing to do with the project so I've been doing it all myself. Today I had to take a 6 year old and a 3 year kid to buy paint and base molding ... So I'm kind of over it.
Someone kick my ass and tell me to not be lazy and just finish it already.
I am the queen of getting 98% done, and stopping because I'm over it (for whatever reason). I always regret it, because it's so hard to pick up the project again to do the last 2%.
Example: I finished renovating the half bath over a year ago: new floor, new walls, new fixtures, whole 9 yards, but I haven't put in a threshold between the new tile floor and the family room floor. I also haven't replaced the door yet. It's been 13 months, and:
still no go on either one. (See the bright orange Ditra peeking out from under the tile in the doorway? And wouldn't this bath look so much better with a white solid 6 panel door with a brushed nickel knob? YESSSS.)
Do yourself a favor. Don't stop until it's done, you'll never have as much momentum for this specific project as you do now (even though it's annoying).
Don't stop now. Our house has been a stupid construction zone for the past two years because we ran out of steam. If I had someone to kick H in the ass, more would be done right now.
Susie, Love that shade of blue. Our first floor bathroom to hallway threshold and the kitchen/dining threshold are currently mia as well. H set them there after cutting them with the intent to nail them in the next time he had the gun out...and our lab decided that they make good chew toys.
