Also, Dot is definitely getting a little bit more mentally unstable these days. Yesterday, we took her for a walk and we came up on some folks who were having a house party for something ... and she literally started shaking and WOULD NOT walk past them. Just people, no dogs. This is a new development and really worries me.
I bought a package of stew meat at the store today. I know I put it in the cart, I know I paid for it. I know I brought it in the house. I can not find it for the life of me.
I am losing my damn mind.
Everything I make lately E. Student says, "Yum! Tastes like pizza!" Umm...what? You said that about the marinated chicken, the omelets, the spaghetti, the casserole, the veggie soup. Next it'll be the grapes. I think he thinks it's a compliment or something. Who knows. He's the greatest kid but so much gets lost in his translation.
I'm on vacation (stay-cation) next week and because of the holiday this week, I finished pretty much all of my work. And now I have zero motivation to do anything. I want to go home and do nothing. And drink wine.
I'm excited to paint the kitchen next week. I want it to be DONE.
I've been craving a giant greasy cheeseburger for like a week, but I haven't had time to go out. I want to sit, relax, eat, and drink a beer.
And I feel kind of guilty for buying a Dooney & Bourke purse. I'm over cheap purses because they never hold up, so I spent a good chunk of my Christmas cash and bought a nice purse I've been wanting. I know I'll love it, but I've never spent more than $50 on a purse so I'm kind of freaking out. Someone tell me it's ok? I can have nice things....right? LOL
I bought a coach purse last summer and was sick over it. I have used it every day since and I now understand why people buy expensive bags. I am actually saving for a brown one now too, and I won't feel the least bit guilty buying a $300 purse this time.
If I use it every day for 5 years, it coats the same as me buying a crap target purse every year that I don't even like and falls apart. And at the end of 5 years I have a bag that still looks new versus 5 that are in my daughters dress up box.
I hate painting trim. I forget about it until it's time to do it. Then I get all stressed about how it's impossibly ridiculous for me to get perfect without having to go back and do touch-ups.
I go back to work on Thursday and am not looking forward to it. I need more time off!
We passed our plumbing and electrical rough-in inspection today!!! <)
Onto framing inspection tomorrow (hopefully it will pass) and then we will insulate & sheetrock!! working on month 7 of this reno and it is wearing on me

Woo hoo! We may finally get our basement slab poured this week & then can keep framing inside. Also, my husband is taking 2 weeks vacation and going to install windows and siding with my dad! I cannot wait for this house to start looking like a house.

I live like 5 minutes from an outlet let me know if you have one you are looking for.

Yea! And fingers crossed for passing tomorrow.
We had a meeting with our GC that was not pretty. Lets just say that overall they were great and really provided great subs, but they have really poor communication and like to blame other people or talk smack to/about the contractors/businesses that we hired/purchased from and they didn't make money on. They blamed us for the range hood (that they installed) not passing inspection, because we didn't buy it through them. ^o)
They are sending the AC guy out tomorrow to fix the problem with the hood installation, (too bad they didn't send him the first time, like I requested ;p), and I think after one more repair (damage that their tree guy caused), we are finished with them. They gave us a ridiculous quote on our fence/wall, so their people won't be building it for us.
The punch list was minor, (mostly a little patching and paint touch ups), so I think we will handle it rather than have them rush through it because they are 'done' with us too, and have moved on to other jobs already. I am sad that our relationship is ending on a sour note though.

Totally fine. The older I get the fussier I am about clothes. I still have some Target in the mix for sure but I'd rather have 3 great sweaters and 2 pairs of dress pants I love and will hold up over time rather than 3563454 options that come apart on the 2nd wash.
I also have a handful of Kate Spade's, a few Fossils and a Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper Bag. I use them constantly and they all look great. My diaper bag especially. I used the snot out of it with Rubes and it still looks brand new for this time around. I'd say that $100.00 diaper bag has long paid for itself.

I think it's a requirement of GCs to be horrible communicators It sounds like a lot of us are ready for 2014 and for our construction projects to be complete. Mine is looking more like Feb right now though
I cleaned out my clothes closet yesterday and filled up 2 bags to donate (yay!) but am sad I can't find a place to recycle leather shoes. They are really worn out good quality shoes, but won't really work for the "reuse" organizations I found.
I am ready to purge some toys. I can't decide whether we should donate or grow our rotation system.
There were at least 4 rounds of vomiting and three rounds of peeing on our floors today. At least twice the peeing was on someone. The joys of having a terminal dog, a douchebag dog and a toddler.
On a positive, DR note, my neighbor is giving me a gallon of a blue paint I've been coveting for two years. I'm so excited! It's Valspar Woodlawn Silverbrook.
Today was a definite Monday day. I've taken the rest of the week as vacation and I'm so very glad I did as I think management has lost their minds! Some of what they are doing and their expectations are so far removed from the reality of what we do, how we do it, and how our office/project works that I find it highly irritating; couple that with the lack of respect they afford employees right now and I'm in definite need of a break.
At least tomorrow I'm heading to a friend's a few hours away for New Years.
