Budapest is full of great restaurants! I have a friend at our Budapest office who's an oenophile and gastronome, and these are his recommendations from when we went last year:
I know we went to Bock, because we also stayed at the Bock winery when we were in Villány. I think we made it to Arcade as well. But it's hard to keep them all straight, because every place we went in Budapest (high-end, low-end, touristy, and even the Chinese place my friend tipped me about) was good.
Usually my boyfriend is ultra-casual, but this was the first trip I didn't have to worry about it, because we bought box seats for the opera and he brought a suit for that. (btw If you like the theater, opera tickets are crazy cheap! Like almost everything in Budapest.)

I went to onyx this summer and while I can't compare to costes I thought it was good but not spectacular. I actually enjoyed bock bistro much more. That was my favorite in Budapest. Csalogany was also good. I was very let down by Rosenstein.
We really enjoyed Menza. Like pp said, everything was good. We did not have a single bad meal. Even at the touristy Great Market Hall, you can get really good food from the upper level vendors.
