What are you up to this year?
R and I are, as noted below, going "casual vegetarian". Partially to save money (we buy $$ meat) and partially for the health benefits of more veggies. Also, we're working on paying down some debt.
I also have a couple emails in to local universities' admissions for consideration as a graduate student this year. Right now I'm debating between going back and redoing my bachelors degree versus getting an unrelated masters. A lot will depend on whether the universities are willing to accept my undergrad degree. *sigh* (It's a LONG story and I don't like to put it out there often.)
House-related, we'll be painting the exterior and completing a mess of interior projects we have the supplies for but haven't started yet. I'd also like to build a shed and get the crap out of the dining room.

I want to make myself be better at carving out me time to work out - not necessarily to lose weight but to be a better example for the boys.
I'm going to try to be better at meal planning and sticking to it - I can do the first, but the second is hard!
We are going to try to be better at managing spending and pay down some debts we shouldn't have (if we were better at managing our money a little, but also the renter situation didn't help).
We are going to start working on finishing our basement with our new tenant/friend. It may take awhile, but progress will be made!
This is a big year for us. I plan to lose 40 lbs (we'll see), DH graduates college, I'm starting a new job in a week. Our goals are for DH to get a great job, for me to get a promotion at new job (totally reasonable) and to pay off out credit card, which will take some serious work.
It should be pretty boring year for the Wop family. No real resolutions. I want to run a half marathon this summer as a personal goal. Other than that, just keep trucking and do a few minor things around the house. I guess if I had to give a resolution, I want to put more money in the bank (for our future kitchen remodel). I'd also like to make a decision of whether or not to try for baby #2.
- spend less, save more, make a plan to put away money every month toward some goals we have - lose weight - focus on the positive. Last year I struggled with very bad baby blues and I felt miserable. I cried a lot and was generally just negative about things. This year I want to try to be more positive and quit whining so much. - we also have some small house goals like replacing our tub and doing a fancy tile surround, painting our interior doors black, getting new drapes in several rooms, planting more trees and shrubs, decorating our covered deck.
house: small projects that we completely ignore like touch ups. save up for new windows. we desperately need them.
personal: I need to be more patient with my son, he has autism and there are some days that he really tests me.
work: I really want to grow professionally, I started at a new company in May 2013 with a bigger company, its overwhelming at times, but I enjoy it so much and want to be enthusiastic about my work.
Be more consistent/firm with my kid. I feel like I give in way too much and she's getting a bit whiny as a result. I just do it all day long at work, I get sick of it at home too..ha.
Find more fun in our life at home. We're both so tired by the end of the night we're just watching weather and falling asleep.

That's about it. I have too much going on right now for anything big.

How old is your first? We were on the fence for a loooong time.
She's 2 (birthday is in August). The whole "terrible 2's" thing isn't really helping right now. My nerves couldn't take a 2 y/o and a pregnancy/infant right now. If we do decide to have another (which won't be until after I turn 30) I'd like to be pg by the end of the year. If we try for more than a year and nothing happens, we'll take that as a sign and be OAD. I doubt it will take that long, but you never know.

I felt similarly when M was 2. I didn't even want to think about adding another kid into the mix. 3 isn't a lot better, attitude-wise... he's still argumentative and now he asks a million annoying questions. HOWEVER, he doesn't need as much from me now. A year ago, it was constantly a struggle to get ready in the morning. But now he picks out his own clothes and gets dressed by himself in the morning. He clears his place after breakfast (mostly-- he still needs reassurance that his favorite cup will not go down the dish disposal if he puts it in the sink). He will put his coat and shoes on and wait by the door. It's actually somewhat pleasant. I like 3 way better than 2.
It's more of a "now or never" thing for me. Either I want another child, or I don't want to think about it or over analyze it anymore. I'm pretty sure we will try for another, but I want to wait until after my birthday in June (I mostly want to drink and have a fantastic time at my 30th celebration). Who knows, it might be 100% clear what we should do in 6 months. Something might click for me either way. I go back and forth everyday. Today, I'm content with my one little girl.

We'd like to make several purchases this year. We are finally in a nice home and both of us working full time great jobs. So we'd like to buy -new living room furniture -upgrade our bed to king size -washer/dryer (possibly not sure how our landlord will feel about having to remove theirs but they a crap and they refuse to replace them) -trade my car in for a SUV (we've had my car for 5 years and it has 155k miles on it so far)
Goals are to buy the things we'd like while still saving some money back and then hopefully make a baby towards the end of year.
I want to have this baby in April and get back into shape within 9 months. I did it with DD and then gained about 10lbs and hated the way I looked for a long time until I hired a trainer and such. Anyway, my goals are to be happy w myself and my family....so getting into a routine with a 3 year old and a new baby is priority #1. We don't have any new projects planned but I always come up with something.
Be more consistent/firm with my kid. I feel like I give in way too much and she's getting a bit whiny as a result. I just do it all day long at work, I get sick of it at home too..ha.
This is a big one for DH and I. We've already started implementing new strategies and being more firm.
I know it's not the same, but I can hear the kids from my home office, so even though I'm only actively with them on breaks, lunch, and feedings, I feel tired of them by the end of the evening. That sounds horrible because I LOVE my extra time with them during the day.
I need to start listening to the radio and music more in my office.
I want to be nicer & more present for DH, the DDs, and in my friendships.

Remember to keep a level head while building the house.
R needs to get a job. Hopefully a job that he can enjoy too, that would be a bonus. But we just really need him working to pay the bills. I guess if he doesn't get anything he can be a SAHD for a while.
We have to finish our big kitchen reno which keeps creeping along. I'm looking forward to being done with that and not focusing on the house in such a major way for a while.
I really want to do better about being social and putting down roots. I hope that I will be able to make some mom friends.
Also have lots of personal resolutions about getting my body back PP, but we'll see how that goes.

- Finish my office reno before I start grad school in March. - Build a coffee table, end table, and kitchen cabinet. - Run another half marathon, and hopefully beat my previous time. - Maintain a good GPA in my grad school classes. - Get my CC and CL from Toastmasters. - Volunteer at least 10 hours a month with Habitat for Humanity. - Improve my vegetable garden from last year.
