First of all, I think it's awesome that you are feeling good enough evidently that you are wanting to go out and shovel! I think I would wait for H to come home and then go out and be careful you don't overdo it.
So ummm. I did it. She slept and I took the monitor. I am nearly 3w PP. I've been feeling well, have been feeling up to light activity and had an easy labor and recovery.... and we have a small driveway. The snow is light and powdery. I had to lift a little but I tried to just push to the sides. I didn't strain myself at all and it was nice to get out.
I'll take a pre-emptive Ibuprofin (the prescription one) just in case and make H wait on me all night.
I was cleared for activity at 2 weeks post partum b/c my Dr does an appt then to try to catch post partum depression. I'm sure if you are feeling well it was fine. I vividly remember wanting to be active and get outside and do something so I totally get it. I agree that your DH should definitely wait on you just to make sure!
I'm not saying this is the ethical way to do it, but last time it snowed I waited until I heard a snow blower going and then went outside and started shoveling. The neighbor felt bad that I was doing it the old fashion way and did about 75% of it for me with his blower. Now if I had a kid to strap on my back while I did it? I bet he would have done the whole thing!
If you felt find while doing it, you probably are. I never had too much of a problem doing that sort of stuff either. Just take care of yourself.
**Mom Confession** I used to itch to get outside and do this stuff when DD was a baby. I'd stick her in her seat in front of the nearest window and peek in on her. I mowed 1/2 our lawn that way once.
Want to come and help me? DH apparently didn't take the gasoline out of the snow blower after last season and now he can't get it started! I am not going to be happy if we have to shovel everything because of it. I'm good with some but we have a long driveway plus have to shovel a decent area for our dog to go out (she's prissy and will only go in her area)
By the way, where are you located? I thought you were West Coast.

Nope, Ohio! Northeast where we get a decent amount of snow.
Where are you?
I'm in NJ. My old company had a plant in Coshocton and I now work with a company that is headquartered in Twinsburg.

I've probably asked, but where in Ohio? I went to U of Findlay.
