little shooting "pains" in crotch?

on and off since this afternoon i've had some little shooting pains in my crotch area - although not really painful, i'm not sure what else to call the feeling. i had it a few times this afternoon, and a little bit more this evening. it's not constant just every so often. i haven't experienced this before.

i haven't had any bleeding. i'm wondering if maybe i overdid it today - i had to move desks at work so had a lot of moving back and forth this morning, and i didn't drink enough water today.

any thoughts? i don't know if it's anything to worry about. had an u/s on sunday with no problems. i'm 17 weeks today.

I had this too a few days ago, but just once or twice. I hadn't done anything particularly different than normal and they went away on their own. I'm also 17 weeks. I guess this just comes with the territory? I'd try drinking some water and relaxing. Sorry, not very helpful but just wanted you to know the same thing happened to me.

Oh, but drink more water and with you being 17 weeks it could be round ligament pain. I really think of lightening crotch as a shooting nerve pain in my cervix area.

I'm glad you asked about this because I'm getting it, too. I told my mom -- who clearly has been pregnant -- and she was like, CALL THE DOCTOR. I've been surprised by so much stretching/pulling/ping-ing in that area.

Sounds like lightning crotch :-) If it gets really bad, sit down and rest for a while and drink more water. It's just one of those things that happens with everything expanding down there.

If you feel like it's more of a crampy pain and extends into your uterine region, then call the doctor.
