Hello - our coat/hall closet is absolutely overflowing. I've hated it for years, but it is really driving me crazy now. besides investing in an elfa system, are there any products you would recommend to help use the space better? it holds the vacuum, jackets/hats/gloves/boots/ etc. I've been searching pinterest, but haven't gotten inspired yet, lol!
If Elfa is too pricey, you could try easyclosets.com. It's cheaper and I used them to design my coat closet. I used this in mine (it was hard to get a full shot). This was $272 including shipping.
Wow I like that too, that would make our closet so much more functional. Do you remember how big your closet is?
The closet width is 43 inches wide, so I input that into their website. Easy Closets gave me a working number of 42 5/8 inches wide. I chose the "tall hanging section" on the left side and wanted it 15 inches wide. I chose the "shelves with hanging" section on the right and the site automatically made it 25 3/8 inch wide to make up the difference. What I liked was that I could adjust how wide or narrow I wanted each section.
I'm planning on doing this same thing in my master bedroom, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I've played with it on their site and it's given me an estimate of roughly $1k.
I'm going to measure my hall closet tomorrow and play with that site. I think my closet might be just about the same size as yours. I like your configuration. We hang more jackets in there than long coats so a narrow long area would work for us too. I would like the shelves for storing other things - the usual hats/gloves but I also keep my silver chest on the shelf we have now (2 shelves high in the closet. I have a 10' ceiling in my closet.
moolarkey - Cool! Make sure to input your ceiling height, you might get more options (or taller options). ;-) In the 2nd pic of mine, you can see the unit doesn't go all the way to the ceiling, so there's additional storage options up top. I just haven't put anything up there.
