With my history of shoulder dystocia and third and fourth degree tears plus my low lying placenta, doc doesn't feel comfortable letting me go too much longer. It isn't ideal, but it is this or a c-section. I have had some bleeding/spotting which we still expected, and thankfully placenta isn't blocking the opening (could change when I dilate). But the risk for post partum hemorrhage is bigger than I am comfortable with. I know I would be nervous to have me as a patient, which kind of sucks.
Sounds like a good compromise...I'm glad baby's getting a little more time to cook! FX that you start to go in to labor on your own before the big day!
