Hi! I'm the last human on the planet who's not on facebook, but my Mom (and everyone else I know) is, and she waited to post her own little announcement until 12 weeks. I had an appointment at 9 weeks and everything was fine, but it was too early to hear the heartbeat (in my case) with the doppler, so at my next appointment a few weeks later we heard it then. My Mom was good about waiting until then when I gave her the green light. My best friend then posted a picture of me a week or so later and said something about a little bump
If I were you, I would feel comfortable announcing.
I announced on Facebook at 12 weeks last time. My NT scan is at 11.5 weeks, so I'll likely announce after that. We've told most friends and family already.
I would feel comfortable announcing in your position. I waited until 13 weeks just because there were a few people that I wanted to tell before they saw it on FB. I had the NT scan at 12w1d and would have felt comfortable posting something then if I had told those people.

I just announced on Wednesday but I had a lot of people that I wanted to tell in person first so we waited but I think you're fine to tell now if you want to.

I waited till 20 weeks to announce on Facebook. I had told all my friends at 12 weeks, and family before that. I don't post a ton on Facebook, so i was fine with waiting till we knew gender and has a/s scan.
Last time I did it after the NT scan. I had the NT yesterday, but we're going for an elective gender ultrasound in two weeks so I'm just going to wait until then.
I'm at 25 weeks and haven't announced on facebook and don't really plan on it. The people that I care about were all told personally. I will probably post a picture once the baby is born though.
I don't think there's anything wrong with you announcing now. I have an appointment on the 14th and I'll be 15 weeks, so if everything is still good I think we'll announce then. It's getting harder for me to hide it at work anyway, plus we'll need to start looking for daycare and that will probably involve asking people for recommendations.
We told immediate family at 8 weeks after the u/s. The rest of the world found out at 14ish weeks. I never posted anything on FB with my first. With this one, I posted around 14-15 weeks bc I was showing and it was the easiest way to spread the word.
Right now no ones knows except DH. My cramps and spotting have kept me from being ok enough to tell our parents, but they aren't bad anymore so we might tell them this coming weekend when I'm 6 weeks.
Then I'll tell work, then Facebook, then DD, lol. Work will probably be right around 12 weeks, and FB will be soon after.
Dd will be when it's more obvious that I'm showing, since she'll probably talk about it to EVERYONE. In a way I want to minimize the time between when we tell her and when we find out the sex, so that she isn't hoping for one and gets the other. Though, who am I kidding, she probably wants a girl, lol.

This is my plan. Not going to explicitly hide it, but I'd like to keep things on the DL. This is my second pg, though.
ETA: I didn't announce on FB until I had 100 days to go.
we told close friends and immediate family over the holidays. we are waiting for after the NT scan to tell extended family and will probably do something on fbook around the same time.
