I think the ones that aren't too exaggerated will be. Certain styles of peplum tops look really classy with a pencil skirt, and I think the ones you can wear like that are kind of classic.
I've been witholding buying one from Anthro but every time I see it on an OOTD I think I really need to get one.
Do you think they'll be "in" next year as well?
I say who cares if they are in as long as it looks good on you. Peplum tops were in the 50's and they are still being worn now. I had a couple 5 years ago and I have always loved peplum tops. I think any clothing item that accentuates a woman's shape in a flattering and classy way is a classic.

Like others, I think it depends on the peplum. I think the more exaggerated ones will most likely not be. But I bought one a few years ago that only has a slight peplum and I think it will still be classy after the trend.
I thought it would definitely be only a spring/summer trend, but I've already seen some Fall catalogs showing a lot of peplum.
Like others said, it can be very flattering if it is the right cut. I think peplums are a lot nicer/classic compared to the overload of boxy-style tops.
Yup, they'll be big for fall as well, but I'm not sure about them after that.
I personally really like them and think they look good on a lot of people. I haven't really seen anyone wearing one who shouldn't be because it looks unflattering.
Does anyone have a real-life example of someone wearing one? I'm rather top heavy, so I don't know if they would work to balance me out or make me look awkward.
ETA: I do kind of wish that I had bought the one from Asos that Atlantic-Pacific has because the Anthro one has kind of a low back which was okay to wear to work when I had long hair but not so much now. Might still buy the asos one anyway.

I've been wearing peplum tops for years. I'm not sure why they would go out of style. I think they're fun and feminine with pencil skirts and skinny jeans.
I don't think they will be "in" for very long. However, more understated ones are more classic IMO and don't really fall under the trendy category. I think that if you like it enough and know you'll wear it, get it.
