Husband and I are going next week, and have never been. We're staying at Capella Ixtapa, which I fully expect to be amazing after our stay at Capella Pedregal in Cabo last year. Is there anything specific we should do or see while we're there? Any local places in town to eat? We're looking to spend most of our time poolside, but don't want to miss out on anything that's a must-do. We're also wondering about transport to Capella - we can pay for taxi service through them ($100ish), or get our own, which I assume would be cheaper? Thoughts on that?
I've been a couple times, and stayed at La Casa Que Canta (El Murmullo).
We've had great fun and good food at Paty's on the beach There is a restaurant at La Casa that has been consistently good. One of our faves is Il Mare.
We've never ventured to Ixtapa so I can't help there, but enjoy Zihua! The people are amazing-it's my favorite place in Mexico.
Thanks shell24! I can't wait to be there - I'll check out your restaurant suggestions. They seems familiar, so they might already be on our list of considerations. : )
We just booked their car service. We had decided not to, and then husband changed his mind last night. I'm glad we did because they sent us instructions about how to get through customs and when to start dodging other representatives so we can get to our driver. I can't wait, can't wait, can't wait to get there. This is going to be the longest weekend ever!
