If you have a navel piercing, when did you remove it? I have had mine (same jewelry, even) for 17 years and I feel like I'm going to feel naked without it lol. And I'm sure having had it for so long it's not going to close before I start getting a bump (I'm 9w4d).
What do you eat for lunch, if you avoid deli meat? I've had evening sickness so not been up for a lot of cooking to have leftovers, and I have a STRONG aversion to chicken. I'm getting very tired of PBJ and I have the feeling it's not appropriate to have McD's cheeseburgers (my only craving) for lunch every day.

No navel piercing, so I can't help on that front.
I did not avoid deli meat (my OB is laid back in the food department) but if you are nervous you could always do a panini or other hot sandwich. I usually eat leftovers for lunch.

It won't close. If you'd like, you can switch out to a piece of flexible jewelry you can wear basically until your navel starts to flatten out. The hole won't close up on you, but without the jewelry there to keep the hole the same size, it will shrink down. You can always go to a reputable piercing studio after you have the baby to have them stretch the hole back open and reinsert your jewelry. It's not uncommon at all.
If you can stomach it, what about making a big batch of couscous (or similar) salad on Sunday during the day when you feel up to cooking, then having it for lunch during the week? You could add whatever veggies you wanted to it, and chickpeas make for pretty good protein so you wouldn't have to eat chicken.
I took out my belly ring a year or so before TRC so I'm not sure about that- sorry!
For lunches I had a lot of snacks things when I was nauseous- crackers & cheese, lots of grapes, dry frosted mini wheats, pretzels, hummus & veggies (until I had an aversion to hummus that I just got over this week at 31 weeks!), caprese salad, granola bars...
I removed the regular jewelry in my belly piercing at around 20 weeks and replaced it a long plastic piece of jewelry made specifically for pregnant women.
Since you're not up for cooking to bring leftovers with you, what about some healthy frozen meals? I stock up on Amy's organics burritos whenever they are on sale, and I know they make lots of other yummy types of dishes.
I don't avoid deli meat, except for turkey occasionally, as I read in Expecting Better that it is slightly more likely to carry listeria than other lunchmeats. I also am pretty picky about the establishment where I buy my sandwiches/lunchmeats. If they look sketchy in terms of cleanliness then I eat something else.

1. I think I was around 28 weeks when I finally took mine out. I thought about getting one of the maternity "rings" (basically a long thin plastic piece that you can trim as needed) but never got around to it and haven't bothered to put it back in yet. The holes are still dark but that's about it. I felt weird without it at first but forgot about it fairly quickly.
2. I avoided deli meat. And my #2 craving (after fruit, and before rootbeer floats) was McDonalds cheeseburgers. We won't talk about how many times a week I was eating them So I'm not going to discourage you there, you've gotta eat what sounds good especially in the first tri.
I took my naval ring out when I got my BFP - I looked weird (had mine 15+years) but you get used to it. Now I can see both holes clearly b/c my belly button is so far pushed out. Some ladies get stretch marks around the naval ring. Fortunately, that hasn't happened to me.
1) I also had a navel ring that hadn't been changed in years...more out of laziness on my part than any real desire to have it there! I think I took it out sometime in early second tri. There is an unsightly scar where it was. :/
2) I don't eat a ton of deli meat, but I have found that some places will heat it up for you if you ask. I get a sub from Publix on occasion and they have no problem doing this (plus it makes the cheese all melty and delicious, which is a bonus!)
I don't even want to admit how many McD's cheeseburgers I've had this pregnancy! Before it got cold outside, I'd go and get a cheeseburger and a soft serve as a snack pretty frequently. So delicious!
I took my ring out about a year before I got KU with my first. Had I still had it I would have probably removed it around 15-20 weeks. As for the food question, I eat basically everything in moderation. Subway got me through first trimester. I don't eat much deli meat now but that's mostly because I do not desire it. I would eat it if I did though. I eat lots of fruits/veggies, grilled cheese, pb&j, salads, and easy to prepare things for lunch. I really just eat what sounds good

I took mine out about a year before getting pregnant thinking it would have plenty of time to heal. I am however, one of those who got terrible stretch marks around the top whole. It also tore horizontally before I even got the stretch marks. Hindsight 20/20 I would have gotten the plastic wire, or whatever maternity ring and kept it until after baby.
It really depends on your genetics whether you'll get marks or not so don't stress too much.
In the first tri the only thing that sounded good was fast food, like Taco Bell or Wendy's chili...it was pretty bad but that's all I wanted so that's what I ate. Now it's much better, and I've been eating bagels with cream cheese, canned soup, and leftovers from dinner, like spaghetti, or chili and fruits or veggies. Honestly though I've been craving deli meat sandwiches--because they sound good AND are easy to pack--but I've tried to avoid them for the most part just in case. I'm thinking instead of trying shredded turkey or chicken sandwiches. Before becoming pg, I ate salads with cooked chicken or leftover taco meat almost every day but unfortunately I've had strong aversions to salads so far.
